I can't believe that with all these people having wifi and 3G and whatnot, no one wants to help port this wonderful program over. It's freakin open-source, I'll pay someone to get this app ported over. I'll start a paypal donation fund, like Ollywompus did for Shoutcast. I want to be able to download music to my phone!!!
I'd be supportive if Symella ever worked on my past phones, but it never did. Great idea though. what would be better than a camera/mp3 phone that lets you download new songs wirelessly?
it should work fine on your N70. I used it extensively on my 6682 and am still trying to figure out how I live without it. My temp. solution is a note with artist and title, and when I sync I open it and Frostwire and go to work. How often when you're walking around or whatever do you think of a song you'd like to have or hear a new one on the radio? This program is really what made my s60 a necessity. Pretty much everything else can be accomplished on an s40 device, though admittedly not as fun.
Really all this takes is someone with knowledge into S60 (I've been doing reading, but holy piss it's alot) and the time in changing what needs to be changed to be compatible. (I'm still trying to read to figure that out, i havent' even started reading to find out how to do it) This is why I need help. It's free, the source code's there, the info's there, it's just unbelievably time-consuming. Surely there's someone out there who knows how to at least write a .sis program that could cut ALOT of the time factor out.
I'll check with some friends at another board....they usually do this kind of thing.
Symella worked great on my 6620, but now that i don't work for Cingular anymore I want a device that uses WiFi but will also let me download music straight to my phone.
I'm so glad to see that there are finally others interested in this. As I said, I have been delving into it, but having a full-time job, other things to do, and zero beforehand knowledge of the subject, I am at an extreme loss. I don't think it'd be that difficult, specially given that the program is there, you're not starting from scratch, and I'd be happy to help in any way possible, I just don't have too much knowledge in programming languages or whatnot.
I'm interested, of course I'm not a programmer; so I salute you if your trying to figure this out on your own. It shouldn't be too hard, I think someone will eventually get this down. Is there that many 3rd edition device floating around though? I don't think there has been a whole lot of demand for this yet, so maybe a petition is in order?
