It Better Be Obvious That My Views Do Not Express The Views/Opinions Of T-Mobile USA Inc. Or Anyone Or Anything Linked Or Connected To T-Mobile In Anyway. Anything & Everything I Say Should Be Viewed Or Taken As My Own Suggestion/Opinion & Has No Reflection On My Company T-Mobile USA Inc.
According to the marketing director for the SKIII you CANNOT use your own Mp3's as ringtones! Whoopie TMO! Takin another step towards Verizon when it comes to music! Also, it does not have a feature to turn on audio over Bluetooth for listening to music on a headset and it is not DRM compatible even though the Mini SD card is.. So in closing.. Everyone enjoy your Sidekick II with a trackwheel, a camera that takes 640x480 pics then blows them up to 1 Mega Pixl size, EDGE and Bluetooth! Its times like this im glad I have a MDA.

Are you sure it is just Employees and SKII users, because I have read that it is CURRENT Tmobile users not just SKII users. If it is just SKII users that would suck for meOriginally Posted by JJ_MobileOR

Ok I just checked tomobiles press releases and it states this:
BELLEVUE, Wash., and HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – June 20, 2006 – T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announces the availability of the newest generation of the T-Mobile® Sidekick®, while the highly anticipated device makes its official public debut tonight among Hollywood’s elite.
Existing T-Mobile customers will be the first to be able to purchase the T-Mobile Sidekick 3. For an initial 12-day period beginning on Wednesday, June 28, limited quantities of the in-demand all-in-one communications device will be available exclusively to current T-Mobile USA post-paid customers -- through the company’s online handset upgrade program accessible through www.sidekick.com, and in person at two designated T-Mobile retail stores.*
So it is CURRENT T-Mobile customers not just Employees or SKII users. OK now I can breathe![]()

On June 28th, people who want to upgrade to the SK3 can get it, either by going online to my-tmobile.com, calling customer care, or going to 1 of the 2 stores that will have them on that date. One store is in NYC, and the other in Santa Monica, California.Originally Posted by johnnybluetooth
If you want to buy it for prepaid, you have to wait til July 10th, which is the official release date for the general public.

The SKIII looks pretty sweet. It's about time they updated that old SKII brick. Anyhow, here's the official link:Originally Posted by terryjohnson16

I have a question for anyone that has messed with the SKIII. I have read reviews but no one has stated if it has a Backlit Keyboard. And how is it in the dark . Can someone please let me know. That would really suck if it didnt have a backlit keyboard
It does have a backlit keyboard:Originally Posted by johnnybluetooth

The SK2 was bad and the whole Paris, LiLo, NYCPeach crystal bling celebutante thing just made it all worse. You shouldn't let the ugly history detract from the cool tech that the SK3 is coming out with.Originally Posted by Smoki
It has a an MP3 player, megapixel camera, a miniSD slot, EDGE and a full QWERTY. I wouldn't exactly call it a smartphone, but the beauty of the whole thing is that it comes with the data plan, unlimited text, Unlimited IM and unlimited internet bandwidth. About the only thing missing is WiFi. Of course the SK3 is still butt ugly but that's what bluetooth headsets are for. =p
I really am glad they didn't put Wi-Fi, cause that would make T-Mobile want to raise the price to like $25 or $30 for the add-on price, just like they did when the MDA/SDA came out, so people could use the hotspot service.
Only thing Sharp and Danger could have worked with T-Mobile on is the SK3's Screen. I am surprised that they didn't tell them to improve the screen during the beta testing of the device.
Do you think the video recording thing will be fixable if you get the non video recording one?
Wouldn't it be nice if your cell phone could dispense beer?
Also, one should note that Smart Access customers are NOT allowed to upgrade to the Sidekick add-on plan or use the sidekick.
