Question 6230, 6230b, 6230i: What are the differences?

Just have a question: Whats the diffrence between 6230,6230b, and the 6230i? Heard most people use the 6230b the most. What are the advantages over one and the other. Need a answer ASAP! Thanks

6230 was the first to come along with a 128x128 pixel screen and VGA camera. The 6230B is the American version of the 6230 (with the 850 band instead of 900). The 6230i is GSM 900/1800/1900 and has a 208x208 pixel screen and 1.3mp camera. 6230i has other improvements such as more internal memory, better polyphonic tones etc.

A 6230b is the only one you can use nationwide in the U.S. Please post your location when asking these questions.

It doesn't work like this. You have to change the hardware in the phone.

My Nokia 6230i worked fine with Cingular. Just not as good as my 6230. Couldn't get service at my office with the 6230i while I had just enough service with the 6230 to get a signal to talk on the phone.
