Cingular MEdia Net & MMS Settings: z540, z548, Vodafone 804ss
Just got a Vodafhone 804ss / Samsung z548/z540 overseas and finally got the following settings to work with Cingular in the Los Angeles area. Actually, they worked in Tokyo too so something must be right!
Also posted to the sticky thread.
Enjoy,
Dennis.

i'm trying to get MMS working on my T-509. whenever i use the settings you have here, i get an 'unknown subscriber' error. also, i noticed on cingular's site that they specify the login ID as WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM.
but, neither one works for me. any suggestions? oh, and do i need to input the MEdia settings to use MMS, or just the MMS settings?

thanks.
I know I had both WAP and MMS settings put in before I was able to send/receive an MMS with my unbranded D600.

When asked if I see the glass half empty or half full, I responded I see just a glass of water.
Now you know how I think.
I just bought the Z540 (unlocked). I took the (CINGULAR) chip out my old phone and placed in this one. The trouble i am having is that it is not seeing the network. I can't recieve or dial out only for emergency use. Can someone help me. I don't know what to do.

You need to check the Band Selection to make sure it is either on Automatic or 1900Mhz.
Since you have Cingular as your Provider, they use both the GSM850/1900Mhz for their network and the Z540 only has 1900Mhz, you will not get a signal if your location is using the GSM850Mhz band only.
This is the most common problem users of Euro-Triband phones have with Cingular as covered in the below threads in the Cingular Forum .
I too am having difficulties with MMS. SMS and the Internet work swell, but I just can't seem to get MMS working. I had Cingular/AT&T cold flash my phone so that the proper settings would be put in place to access 3G services, but that to did not work at all.
My internet connection works on both the CingularGPRS settings and MEDia Net settings. I apologise for reposting, but this is what I have set on my v804ss.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.
I also have a question for those posting (and I hope this is the right location). The v804ss works on 3G, GSM 1900 and GSM 900/1800, yet I am unable to access the AT&T network (voice & data) when in Oklahoma City! My phone picks up T-Mobile, but when I try to access that service I am denied. Does AT&T provid frequencies other than the 3G, GSM 1900 and GSM 900/1800???

I just purchased a new G600 and I'm having problems sending and receiving multimedia messages. Everytime I attempt to send a multimedia message I receive a message that reads "unknown subscriber".
Does anybody knows the MMS setting for the G600?
I'm a ATT (former Cingular) customer. (Cingular SIM card)
My v804ss now accepts MMS. However, I am still unable to stream media and conduct video calls, let alone receive AT&T's 3G signal. This is most likely a tech glitch with AT&T.

Try the info I have posted. If that does not work drop by the nearest AT&T shop and ask them to call a techi for you. I spend 1.5 hours on the phone trying different things. It seems they initially had my cell pegged as the Moto Razr and not a Samsung. So we tried settings for a few Samsungs that were similar in style (like the Z540) and finally got it working.
So, if you have free time this weekend and don't mind hateful stares from the AT&T staff then a techi should be able to help you out over the phone.
