Razr V3C can't connect to PC

Bout 7 hours spent on this with little or no progress...any ideas would be much appreciated.

The short of it is, phone is being detected fine by PC but not at all by Razr software.

    The long of it is...
WinXP SP2. Known good USB cable, 4 day old phone. I have tried, I believe, every driver out there.

Bitpim 0.9.05 - 'Detect phone' = no phone detected...on run settings, set to V3C on com 3 (verified in device manager) and 'port detail' all looks correct. 'Detect phone' = not detected. Same settings run with Other CDMA instead, no change.

Motorola Phone Tools 4.21 - Default profile -> cable -> plug phone in -> hangs until I plug phone in, then seems like it's being setting up -> then 'moto phone tools has not detected your phone' -> Do you want to install manually (yes) -> moto usb modem, next -> not accessible or in use by another app -> manual- moto cdma, v3c- finish -> Initializing...mobile not connected.
As above - generic cdma tried, no effect.

P2K commander 3.2.6 + PST - No device found, i/o timeout, volume name fail.

Now, I HAVE gotten Motorola Phone Tools and P2K to connect once or twice each- but it always drops the connection after 30 seconds or so. 99% sure I was not doing anything different when those connections were made.

No go. Uninstalled old drivers first and then tried with moto phone tools and bitpim- same result.

you are running only 1 application at a time, right? Like if you want MPT, that is all you have running... if you want BitPim, every other app is closed? etc...

The only two that can run at the same time is PST and P2KCommander... OR Motorola Software update (aka MSU) and P2KCommander... because P2KC needs PST or MSU to put the phone in the right mode.. which is different than the mode used by MPT or BitPim...

Also, if you have a Verizon V3C and you've done the phone ID string edit to your phone (seem 2827) so that it reads V3CM.. Or you have an Alltel V3C (default id string is V3CM) BitPim won't auto detect your phone... MPT only auto detects the V710, V710M, E815 and V3C... it does not auto detect the E815M or V3CM.

If BitPim Does NOT auto-detect your phone, click Settings from the Edit pull down menu. Use the Phone Type Box to select your model phone, or "Other CDMA Phone." Even if you know the "com port" DO NOT manually set it. Instead, click the Browse button to the right of the Comm Port. A window will pop-up and scan ports. It will have 3 "sections" listing Available Ports, Ports Not Available, and Inoperable Ports. Select your phone (Motorola USB Modem) from the listing of Available Ports and Click OK.

Lastly... While switching between Apps on the PC (i.e. you've finished with MPT, now you want BitPim)... make sure you UNPLUG the phone from the PC... power it off (or remove the battery), then power it back on... this helps assure the phone is in the "default" state before any apps try to connect.

I have the same problem here.... Two question:

What if I only have MTP?

Can Bluetooth transfer data such as photos, ringtone, etc...?

    MTP? or MPT?

With the V3C... Bluetooth file transfers are possible.. BUT depending on your firmware, you might need a SEEM EDIT (aka hack) to your phone. More info.. visit http://mark.cdmaforums.com

Correct- only time I run 2 apps is with P2K cmdr + PST.

    Update..

It seems as though my phone was bad. Took it in for an exchange and now the programs are seeing the phone.

BUT...picture transfers are still iffy- craps out using MPT with an error saying that the connection to the phone is lost. Non-multimedia things (ie; phone book entry) works with MPT, and picture transfers do work with P2K. I spoke with Motorola support - a supervisor there tells me that this is a known issue with using non-motorolla branded USB cables. I find this hard to believe, but plan on testing with a motorolla cable today if I can find one.

I found out a way around MPT Software. I'm able to transfer data from my cell to pc.
