Yes, today i rolled up to Auburn indiana, i payed close attention to the ATT sites. I noticed new antenna racks installed on the red/white big tower inbetween auburn and the fort, and on the auburn site. Looks like they are gonna fire up 3g for Auburn too!! this makes me very very pleased with ATT! (i work and play in auburn) Now if only they fired up a badly needed site for the east/central part of the town....man i hope, it's their T1s anyways so wtf.

this being a PCS only market, it will be very interesting to see what sites will not get UMTS, and i think i know of 2 already.

I think bloomington will get it, they never mentioned evansville and they are live. It would be messed up if they didn't, when Purdue + Notre Dame did lol!

also on another note, i'm starting to wonder if ATT is going to beat centennial at the 3g game. centennial's UMTS has been live since jan., and it's still not public! (for phones anyways)

    3G in Wichita, KS

I work for a wireless company in Wichita, KS and sold some accessories to a few guys who repair, upgrade and build cell towers. They said they were in the area upgrading the equipment and such to get ready for ATT 3G. This was a week ago. Supposedly it will be deployed here shortly.

Asheville, NC?? At all?? They just added it in Greenvile/majority upstate sc and the rep I spoke with on the phone (before they launched it in Greenville) said she knew for a fact it was coming to Greenville and wasn't sure about Asheville but it was in the pipeline?

Well I don't live in Asheville city limits. Thus ridding myself of all hippie/homosexual sterotypes haha. Hows 3g in Greenville?

not that great with my iphone 3g honestly. too many holes in the network atm... i see my phone picking up gsm/edge a lot more due to weak 3g signals.

Thats what I was worried about but is call quality decent on 3g talk? What areas have gaps? When we go to greenville we usually got to various places along Woodruff rd. So I'm assuming its ok or good there? Cause I use to get full bars most along that road

well i live off woodruff, and it isn't too bad here. i get maybe 3 bars of 3g inside of my home (unless i turn to the left and then the iphone says full bars), and full 2g. i commute to spartanburg daily... the signal just drops a few times on the way there in places you wouldnt think would have coverage gaps.

the call quality is great though when you're in a good area. it's amazing how much faster 3g kills my iphone battery though. i couldn't make it through a full day at work with 3G+Exchange push mail.

Yeah, I really havent had an issue but I turned off push notifications and lowered backlight a lot. And I turn off wifi when not in use. Plus its EDGE only when you cross the NC/SC state border, or maybe a little south of the border, hard to tell from the coverage map. Does it work on 3G going on 26 through Spartanburg. I wouldn't be asking so many questions but the next place I'm going with 3G is Raleigh (Sunday) and went to Greenville a week before I got my iPhone so I didnt actually get a chance to check out 3g.

Not really sure. I haven't traveled on it since we got 3g. I would like to assume they got that area since it does have a good amount of traffic.

Anyone else in here from the Atlanta area? I can't understand why AT&T is soooo slow in feeling in the gap between Snellville and Athens.

When do you guys think we'll start to see the smaller (cracks) filled in by AT&T?
You know times have changed, when the iPhone isn't the top dog anymore.

Had to go to Albany, NY yesterday (Monday) and knowing they have 3g coverage in that area I turned on 3g on my Iphone. All I can say is that the speed of downloads was amazing. Super fast. Now if A.T.& T. can get the rest of their coverage areas switched over that would be awesome. Until then I guess I will just have to be satisfied with their normal coverage. I know companies do not like to advertise pending changes, upgrades, etc., but it would certainly be nice to see something from A.T.&T. regarding upcoming/planned 3g areas. I know companies don't like to do this because if they miss the target date people will start to b---h. Somebody in the company must know this info, but they will not release this to the public. I've searched various areas of the web and for the life of me cannot find anything other than A.T.&T. stating they are planning on X number of new areas at this time, and they don't even list the areas.

I'll concur with that. I don't understand with Henry County (southside) growing the way it is, why doesn't McDonough and Locust Grove have 3G yet. Stockbridge is as far south as it goes. Kills me. McDonough is HUGE commercially, and is the 'Conyers' or 'Douglasville' of the southside of town. I don't understand it.
