I hear people say that they know when a city will get 3g, i was just wonderin how do you poeple know that. For example i heard that their will be 3g in CT by september but i dont know for sure. The Reason i ask is because my contract expires in in August and i dont want to upgrade and then not be able to get discounts on a 3g phone when its available.

Yes they are really setting up the 3g towers in Charlotte.

I am a UPS delivery driver and there is a company that I deliver to everyday called Trinity Telecom. They are setting up and testing the 3g hardware here in the Charlotte, NC area.

I always have these Trinity Telecom (Cingular boxes) and I just had to ask.

Charlotte should launch in the end of August. Greensboro and Columbia should launch in October.

No Raliegh launch, but other makets, after.

Agree - just switched and was very disappointed in the lack of 3G coverage in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, since we are the center of the universe you know.

Playing it safe. Why would you want it in tri-state ( mainly NYC / NJ ) and there lots of bugs? Lots of people would be happy. In the small towns, it does not matter as much. Lose millions or couple hundred?

Cingular's popular here.... They'd be more popular, I'm sure, if they'd turn on the damn 3G overlay. I still cannot get an estimated timeframe when the implementation begins.
