I have a problem with getting content onto my RAZR v3m. I have the correct driver installed on my phone and MPT works...well somewhat. When I try to select multimedia on the side it will bring me to the next screen with my computer on the left and my phone on the right, however i cant access anythign on my phone. I cant select any of the 4 top folders. What can I do to solve this problem.
Edit: Also it keeps disconnecting my phone from mpt, is this a common problem?

Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
It depends...Originally Posted by Coopster034
You have a Verizon phone, right? Did you seem edit the phone yet?
As discussed MANY MANY MANY MANY times over in the Verizon/Moto section... When it comes to VERIZON phones and MPT...
Calendar/contacts works "out of the box" on the E815/V3C/V3M via USB Cable or Bluetooth..
Calendar/contacts works "out of the box" on the V710 via USB Cable only, 1.40.0R firmware and seem edit is needed if you want to do via Blueototh.
To use MultiMedia Studio on ANY Verizon Moto via either USB Cable or Bluetooth...
You must seem edit the phone (Seem 2742 on E815/V3C/V3M, and Seem 041A on V710, and the V710 needs 1.40.0R firmware),
then get MPT to see your phone as the "m" model to use MultiMedia Studio... (i.e. V710M, V3CM, E815M, V3MM)...
Failure to do the SEEM EDIT.. will result in MPT disconnecting the phone when you try and transfer stuff...
Failure to get MPT to see your phone as the "M" model of your phone... you won't see the Multimedia studio icon.
NOTE: as for what verison of MPT to have...
Mpt v3.11 supports V710/V710M, but not E815/E815M, V3C/V3CM, V3M/V3MM...
Mpt v3.25 supports V710/V710M, E815/E815M, but Not V3C/V3CM, V3M/V3MM
Mpt v4.04 supports V710/V710M, E815/E815M, V3C/V3CM, but not V3MM...
Mpt v4.21 supports V710,V710M, E815/E815M, V3C/V3CM, AND V3M/V3MM

WTF, how did you guys get MTP to detect your cell? I have been trying 5 days here and MTP didn't detect my V3c...
First off, you posted in another thread about having this problem... If I were you.. I'd ask in only one place...Originally Posted by johnnylee_hang

if MPT... WHAT VERSION DO YOU HAVE? (see the above post)

I'm having the same trouble but US cellular is my provider have thye doen the same thing?
Hey guys, I'm under US cellular and I find a way to work with Razr v3c. No Need for bluetooth to work. Here's what you need:
1. Razr v3c
2. USB plug between cell and Computer.
3. Software Motorola Phone Tool 4.0 plus Drivers.
Instructions For Newbies:
1. Default = no need to change
2. Menu Button / OK Button = Locate in the middle of the arrow keys.
3. End Button = End calls button.
Steps:
1. Install MTP 4.0 and be sure to update after install. Do not run the application after installation. Ask to restart computer if it ask you, but if not, restart it.
2. Do the following setting in ur cell phone while the computer is still rebooting:
A. Press the Menu button.
B. Press OK on Settings.
C. On Network Options:
a. Current Network: default
b. Set Mode: Standard Scan
c. Service Tone: Off
d. Call Drop Tone: Off
D. Press End Button.
E. Press Menu Button.
F. Press Ok on Settings.
G. Press Ok on Connection.
H. Press the Right Key and Press Ok. This will take you to Bluetooth Link.
I. Press Ok on Setup and make sure Power: ON. Leave others setting as default. Press End button now.
Note: Ok, now you are ready to test.
3. When Computer is loaded completely, simply Plug the USB to the Computer first then the Cell after.
A. Now the computer should ask you to Install the driver. If you have the MPT (Motorola Phone Tool) CD. Manually install by looking the drivers in the cd.
B. Now that you done installing the drivers, the port will not be available and still detect as no Mobile install. Close all application on Computer then unplug the usb from the cell (not the computer). Restart Computer.
C. Shutdown your cell phone. (important!)
D. When Computer is loaded completely, open the MPT again and it will ask rather you connect through USB/Internet/Bluetooth. Select USB then plug the USB to your cell phone. In about 1 to 2 minute, it should detect your cell phone. If not, be sure to download the tool call Driver Tool.exe. Remember, you will have to reinstall the driver and follow steps 3 again until it work. Once the computer detect your cell phone, you don't have to shutdown your cell again to make it detect. Your cell phone should work without shutdown the next time you use.
Let me know if this helps any of you.
I seem to have similar problems with MPT. I have done all the seem edits and am able to get Multimedia Studio working. However, the phone will frequently disconnect while I'm transferring files over and I will have to reconnect it. Also, I frequently get a "processing error" message.
Is this flakiness normal with these brain-deadened VZW phones?
Also, is 7-8 minutes per 3mb song a normal transfer rate? It just seems kinda slow to me over USB. Then again, anything on a vzw phone doesn't surprise me.
Finally, I have even tried copying the files to the transflash card and get "cannot copy data: cyclic redundancy error" as an error message if i try to put them in /my_music. If I copy them to the root directory, it copies fine.
Anyone interested in forming a lynch mob for the VZW lawyers who put all this protection stuff on?![]()

7-8 minute? wow... thats not normal. Mine only took me 10second for 5mb song. Make sure you plug the usb cord on USB 2.0. Otherwise, you will result in a slow transfering....
By the way, try to play around with the software until you get something or have a little progress on it.
