Just curious...
What is your reason for leaving Nextel?

To clarify the statement, post your reasons for leaving Nextel if you have an alternate service provider or reasons that would cause you to leave Nextel if you are already a loyal customer. Sorry about that.Originally Posted by oracleofdelphi1

I don't really care for going cross-eyed by watching TV on a 2" screen, so I have no need for high-speed data. And I really don't need a phone that is so thin that it breaks when I look at it wrong... iDEN just fits my needs, and I love it. There's not much a carrier could do to lure me away except for shutting it down completely, which I don't see happening any time soon...![]()
Not leaving yet, but the lack of EVDO, a windows based phone with bluetooth, and they are usually 1 to 2 years behind in phone technology. JMO
Service and text messaging sucks so bad I was force to switch. For the comments about messaging, if Nextel didnt offer it I wouldnt have signed up. Dont offer something and have people pay for it and it only works 30 percent of the time.... Hell the iden network isnt not even built for voice its built for dispatch calls, everything else comes 2nd
Blackberry 9700
My next BB is the BB9800.....
I left twice. Once for the Cingular 8700 and just recently for the Sprint 7130E EVDO thing.
I came crawling back to Netel and was glad I did.![]()
I will never do it again! <vbg>![]()
Never Again? Really? I'm challenging this one!Originally Posted by GregGebhardt

I am looking to take over a former *Centennial Wireless* Account that was converted to *VERIZON*. Preferably one with a data card, but I won't discriminate if it's a voice plan with a dumbphone/smartphone/whatever. If it's a former Centennial Account and is now a VERIZON account, but still has the Centennial Plan on it, then I AM INTERESTED!

I would only leave NEXTEL for one and a half reasons:
1.) If iDEN ever went by the wayside (which it will not), and
1/2.) if Sprint screwed up the NEXTEL iDEN cell phones looks and didn't offer Moto made Mil Spec cell phones any longer for the NEXTEL iDEN side.
NEXTEL iDEN has the best service, coverage, and plans around and the text messaging is great, too. No problems or complaints come from me with my NEXTEL iDEN service.
Hey, dude... Chill... You look too deep into what I said about texting. I just don't see the point in "typing" on a device that was made for "talking" into (blackberries excluded). Let's not threadjack though, dude.Originally Posted by tDAWG
[typical person leaving] I'm leaving because my service has gotten worse, but rather than putting in trouble tickets to help them fix it, I just keep complaining on hofo. I also don't realize that the device I'm using is acutally a two-way radio, not a phone, and is still subject to all laws of radio frequency energy. I beat up my phone, leave the antenna down and block it with my fingers and wonder why my calls drop. Because of all this, and since I didn't read my contract I feel Nextel owes me. I will really stick it to them by switching to another carrier, that will show them! [/typical person leaving]

True you are. They are licensed for ESMR (Enhanced Specialiazed Mobile Radio) or else they wouldn't be in business. With the forceful integration of voice, data, text, and everything else, I wouldn't wonder why you would have problems with everything except ESMR.Originally Posted by RichXKU
