My next BB is the BB9800.....
My buddy took his group (over 10 people) over to Cingular, and has not turned back. He told me the coverage is night and day compaired it to Sprint's iden side. I just got back from Elk Neck Park in MD, from a weekend of camping. Sprint's CDMA, and iDen coverage were spotting as hell. He was just talking away, and drop call free. I know no provider is perfect, but it bugs me having no service.
Thats one of the reason a person would leave any provider.
My reason for Leaveing is that
1. Calls was being droped more then i wanted to deal with ( mabe one then one network ticket on this probelm )
2. didn't want to pay near 300 bucks for a new phone ( i870 )
3. like every one else TEXT messageing!
4 Price my bill was always over 80 bucks a month for one phone and text messageing
Switched to plateau got 1000 minutes for $39.95 and they carry over! ulntd txt for 4.95 ( see my sig for details and then site for details www.plateauwireless.com )

1)Lack of technology in phones
2)service
3)text messages
4)phone price
The main reason I left is because of consistent text messaging failure on both sending and recieving, even though recieving seems to be the worst. Also the fact that it is impossible to roam, put me in a bad situation when I was out of town.
Right now, I am currently with Verizon but I am actually thinking about switching to Sprint because of the $15 charge for using the internet with a smartphone, while Verizon charges $40. I don't plan on tethering with a laptop so there is no need to spend that high price in addition to my voice plan. I am going to be purchasing that smartphone pretty soon. I do miss Free Incoming as well. It was dumb for me to leave because everybody I know has Nextel or Sprint, while I only know about 5-10 at the most with Verizon lol
Same thing here. But to be honest the only reason i came back was because SERO allowed me to have the nextel blackberry for $19.99 which was worth more to me than high speed internet.Originally Posted by GregGebhardt
Verizon is probably one of the most expensive postpaid service providers. With their large coverage area, you are better off trying one of their MVNOs, Amp'd Mobile (ampd.com), or another service provider such as Sprint. Coverage only matters for where you use your phone. Alltel might be a good deal if they serve your area. Personally, I'm not a fan of Verizon, just their coverage area.Originally Posted by Jayj2k1
I left because for what I was paying, I was able to get more monthly minutes and BB BIS service included...I'm even saving myself $5 bucks a month. I kept my i830 and am using a Boost SIM in it for DC, though. It's small enough to carry in my pocket, so it's not a big deal.
The main thing is: I can get a constant signal and hold a conversation in my own house! Nextel has lousy coverage in my section of town and doesn't plan any new towers. That was the clincher for me: bye,bye Nextel...hello T-Mobile. No problems yet!!
Thanks!!
First let me say that I appreciate this forum! THe mod's are great and the community is cool, but why do people get so worked up over a cellular company? Can we establish that all of them are flawed? Also, that all of the companiesl have angered us over something?
I have no loyalties anymore, its all about service. And until they get rid of contracts, they really don't care about us as well. If they really wanted to provide service, let them satisfy the customer without the crutch of a contract, and penalties for leaving! But, let me get off the soapbox. And Please don't flame me?
I left because text messaging never worked, and I missed major messages. Although call quality was excellent and the signal was robust in buildings, the slow internet was a major deal breaker as well.
Sprint has been good, but, I may switch again, when Cingular rolls out its new network. PEACE

Friends left Nextel and I no longer had a use for PTT.![]()
Service is a little better in my area and GSM devices are definately better 9in the features category.
How about we move this to the lounge. This is a Nextel forum and the main one should be for "How come you chose Nextel" posts![]()
But it is interesting to see that our forum is still read by people who no longer use the service.![]()
1. Service. 1-2 bars is not ok.
2. Txt messeging. Its broke, so fix it.
3. Rates. Nextel/Boost is just expensive.
4. New phones, we get 2 a year?
5. Razr is sexy...wish i could say that about a falcon phone.
6. Sick of random ppl harassing me
7. Battery life
8. Lack of status lite on phones.
9. Comericalls. Never see them. Cingular has them all over.
Keeping me with Nextel/Boost for the last 3 months
1. PTF. Going to cry the day I dont have it.
Piss poor service after the release of the falcon line, and that crappy excuse for txt messages...
Other than that it was all good![]()
I went with sprint for better service for 2 years and did the whole ready link thing for a couple months when it first came out and then I went to the treo and I came back because of the sero and it was so cheap![]()
