    Odd E815 Symptoms

SO my E815 decided it wanted to be cleaned in the washer ... and then the dryer. Done deal, tough love, my 2mo. old was hosed. Sooo, when looking for a new one on ebay, it decided to power back on. I couldn't believe it but it powers on and seams to function normally ... even the outside display still shows the same background I used to have and I was able to seem edit it back to the original seem but unfortunately verizon doesn't replace phones with red dots. The only problem with it was that the screen lights up solid white. Everything else seams to function normally however, and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and might know if a new replacement screen would fix the problem? Any input would help.

the same problem happened to me on my razr. except mine decided it wanted to take a swim in the lake my phone does the same thing, it lights up a white screen. but i get that white screen only when i close the phone, or wait a while for the backlight to shut off, it is like it wants to shut off the backlight, but it cant and just goes to a white screen. other than that my phone functions normally. if your phone has the same or similar symptoms, chances are that you have corrosion on your main board, and that damage is probably irreversable. chances are, getting a new screen wouldnt fix your problem. i would shut off your phone and leave it off with the battery removed for a couple of days, and let it rest. if you keep trying to use it, believe it or not, you are short circuiting the phone, making it worse. another thing you could try is drying it out, put it under a blow dryer, dehumidifier for a while to get rid of the water inside the phone.

hope i was able to help,
    nate
