Good review but what about "wind noise".
Can you hear it over Jenna's engine with the windows open?
I've been using the HBH-610a off and on for a few weeks with the HBH-IV835 so it's time for their review:
The HBH-610a is a bit of an older headset for SE, truth be told, but having come across one now I felt i'd do the review regardless.
The HBH-610a has good sound quality. Callers sounded natural and as they should.
Yy only gripe really is that it just doesn't seem loud enough. Even with the W810 and W600 which are SE's knows to put out some of the loudest BT headset volumes, the HBH-610a left me wanting more.
Being a SE headset with DSP the outgoing the quality was good. I was clear and clean to my callers. The DSP works but you can really tell when it's working because you get that digital robo sounding voice kind of. Regardles of this the quality of the outgoing conversation was good and I had no complalines.
The battery life was good. Not as long as some of the other SE headsets or competitors that have up to 8 hours, but it would easily outlast my W810. You could probably get away with 2 day charging of the unit if you're a heavy user of voice services.
The HBH-610a uses the older style chargers (not fastport) that charge up the T39, T68, S710a etc etc. Not a big concern as these chargers are everywhere, and the HBH-610a includes one anyway. If you use a fastport phone you may want to consider the HBH-IV835 for a unified charging solution.
Size / Weight
The HBH-610a is a bit on the bigger side by today's standards, but this isn't a bad thing. The size of the unit if comfortable and easy to wear. it's also a very slim profile as well so it's a good fit
I was unable to locate a weight of the unit but i don't think it's over 24 grams.
When i compare it to the HBH-IV835 it's not much heavier.
The HBH-610a is a decent headset. If you're using a SE phone that's running the older connector's the HBH-610a can be had at a very attractive price these days so definately consider it as a contender. It's also a bluetooth 2.0 headset for frequency hopping and better sound quality
*SE fit and finish
* older T68 style connector for charging
*Good battery life
*clean classic look
*Very attractive pricing out there for the unit now
*Quality built unit
*Not loud enough for my liking
*comfortable fit for me, but many it may not fit 100%
*older connector for W810 / W600 users

Anyone know what the difference is between the HBH-610 and the HBH-610a???
Mainly, the HBH-610a offers auto-pairing mode, provided your handset supports it. I'm not sure if there are other differences, aside from what I mentioned.
Treatz, when you remove the faceplate on the HBH-610a, does it say HBH-610 or 610a on the surface?
i think the a version fixes the dsp issues with the first one as well...
also for a better fit.. rip off the arm and use a jabra eargel...

Treats post in Bluetooth forum as well. very helpful info, will help to choose for many.
HEY I have a solution to the sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a set of earbud jelly inear extenders made for earbuds. These fit right over the speaker like an eabud and brings the sound closer to your ear and improves the sound by 50%. I had to actually turn the sound down a bit. You can buy some cheap ones on ebay but I got mine at the Source.
