been thinking and maybe just maybe I might switch back over....

I have the sk3 and had the MDA when it first came out and was highly let down...the phone went out on me several times and it was a pain in the you know what. but I was thinking about the phone lately and wanted to get it. first off what data plan do you guy have on your phone? and would you recommend me purchasing this phone again? have the features and software/firmware been updated?

I switched from my SK2 to the MDA the day the SK3 was released and I had the choice between them. I am very happy I got the MDA. I am on the 29.99 plan since I haven't messed with the 19.99 blackberry plan which is working well for many people. Of course it doesnt include the unlimited messaging of the sidekick, but you win some, you lose some. I love the ability to mod my phone, make ringtones, etc, etc. My MDA has been ultra-stable (knock on wood) overclocked 240-252 mhz and the pro's definitely out-weigh the cons IMHO.

I think you should go back, the firmware updates and other tweaks make the phone 500% better than out of the box.

    FIGHT AGAINST THE CRIPPLED (phones)!

I agree with cheeze33. The pros most definitely outweigh the cons!

I have been using my MDA (UK Version) since November and I would say that if I were back then again I would definitly do it. However at this point I am not so sure I would. Now the reason I say this that I am not a big fan of the slide out keyboard. In addition to that, the lousy RF on this thing is really starting to get to me.

With that being said there are a slew of new devices that are due out in the coming months. If all you need is email, text and some internet surfing, the HTC Excalibur is due out on T-Mobile soon. It is roughly the size of the Samsung i320, it runs smartphone (not sure on this one) and has a static keyboard. Also, you have the new iPaq 6900 series with a 416mhz processor, built in GPS and running full Pocket PC with AKU 2.0. There is of course the HTC Hermes that has been released and is a beefed up version of the MDA if you like the slide out keyboard. And finally, the device it looks like I am going to get on board with, the new Palm 750. It runs Windows Mobile 5.0 with AKU 2.0, has no antenna and is triband UMTS.

Just my .02. i do like the Wizard and if you need a device now, and cost is a consideration then you would be fine with going back to it.

    Cheers,
