    Benefit of removing T-Mobile s/w?

I've been reading with great interest the many many pages on xCellin's 2.26 cooked ROM.

Being new to the MDA, I was wondering what I will notice going with the cooked ROM. I understand that some (unnecessary) s/w is removed. But what will I notice?

    • Will the MDA be faster? Any way to quantify this?
    • How much memory will I have left (w/PBreeze,PWeather,iLauncher,Wisbar advance, one POP e-mail & MSN Messenger I have 18.9MB left, now.)
    • More stable?
    • I got my MDA July 1st. I have since upgraded to the T-mo 2.26 ROM. Do I need to get the MDA unlocked before I use the cooked ROM?

before you try another rom other than t-mo, yes you need to run the sim-unlock app.. then go for other roms.

and to tell you the truth, all windows mobile v5 are the same. the registries and the cab files make the difference.

i have over 28 megs free. you can take a look at how your phone looks without the t-mobile custumization. Do a memory erase thing and when all boots up, soft reset the phone immediatly, before the custimazation begins... i think it gives you 3 seconds.
