i will upload it and pm you when i get home c133125
Or you could use a proxy to bypass your unis filter.
Personal messages asking where to get LGDownload or QPST are immediately deleted, so don't bother. They aren't hard to find, search google and mobile-files.com.
thanks.
Yeah I tried using proxys one time, and for some reason I couldnt get it to work still..So I gave up.
Just flashed the phone and it seems to be working. Thanks a lot for the software and guide.
Try re-tagging your mp3s. There could be spaces or errors in the tag or ID3V1 vs ID3V2 conflicts or something. Foobar is a free program that is pretty good at this one you get used to it (which I'm still doing). I also have a few tags that aren't right but so far I'm liking the organization. Takes a little longer to load than the v1 mp3 player though.Originally Posted by pokeme444

Proxys go down as fast as they go up. You just need to keep trying until you find one that works.Originally Posted by c133125
Okay well now I re-tagged mp3s and re-loaded them and I get a "unable to play this song" message.
Then I re-formatted the card, and no there is no mp3 option in the service menu. I can put them in my_music and they show up, but the tags don't work and they don't play.
Any suggestions?
What program did you use to tag them? I use Mp3tag. It works very well for batch processing ID3 tags.
There is no mp3 option in the service menu on V02 because they integrated mp3 support into the MOD player.
Some files may need to be re encoded if they won't play. You can use Lame with a front end (I use RazorLame) for existing mp3s or EAC for ripping CDs.

I use EAC with lame 3.90.3 (this guide). Most of my music is ripped and tagged with that. To re-tag some of my songs that worked fine in the v1 mp3 player I used foobar.
The odd part is that it played the same mp3s with no problem in the old player, and then from the my_mp3 folder in the MOD player.
Then I tried sending a song to each folder, and it found them both and read the tags, but wouldn't play.
Edit: hmmm... I just took a song from the most recent cd I ripped and it worked fine. Might be a problem with using a foobar.
Edit2: seems to definitely be a problem with foobar. That's wierd. Even if there were no tags it should still show unknown artist, unknown album, and the file name. I'll try mp3tag I guess.

I've found that if info gets stripped from the file header it won't play. The phone reads the presence and name but won't play it. I checked some songs that showed but wouldn't play. Opened them in winamp and viewed file info, the only header info was the bitrate. Once I re encoded them I checked the header info again and it was all there. The files played fine then.
On a side note, the link to the flash kit has been deleted. Go to mobile-files.com for info on how to obtain it.

Hmmm. well I guess I'll mess around with it. I don't think I should have to re-incode anything though. If anything it would just decrease the quality. This gives me another reason to get all my music organized better I guess.
As a note to everyone- this is a good reason to do a good job of encoding and tagging in the first place. The ones I ripped with EAC and Lame all work perfectly. Older and downloaded stuff not so much.
And yeah I was thinking of uploading that zip to my webspace but I have a feeling LG and Verizon don't take kindly to that type of thing.

I'm saying check the file header information on the ones that won't play. On all of mine it only showed bitrate. No header start address, no mpeg info.
I agree. EAC rocks. Great quality, tagged properly and they play fine on the phone.
Don't worry about uploading the zip. It's on rapidshare and the link has been spread around pretty good by now.
Would anyone happen to know why when I try to do the firmware upgrade, the 'Upgrade Download Start' button stays greyed out, and in the bottom of the right pane it just repeatedly says: "connecting.... (then) ....DIAG_NV_READ_F:error time over.... (then) .....Not connecting at 38.4 baud rate" (then repeats message again & again)??
I know I'm getting connection through COM1 because I can use EVDO DUN when it's plugged in like this through the same COM1 as LGdownload is set to. And If I unplug phone from USB, LGdownload just gives the error "Can't open PC serial port. - COM1" so I know LGdownload is detecting something. I can properly set the .dll file, and the path on the .bin file, but since I can get LGdownload to connect to the phone, the Upgrade button just stays greyed out.
Any ideas on how to diagnose why I can't get it to work?

Go into your control panel and device manager and make sure nothing is assigned to com1 and then the downloader will work for you. If something is assigned to com1 then assign that devise to something else like com9.
