    GPRS connection assistant

Pana just released a new GPRS connection assistant 4.0 on the Panasonicmobile.com website. Advantages are better connection speed and rates, supports IrDA modem connections. Sweet. I Highly recommend it!!

Have you tried this? What does it EXCATLY DO? I don't need a software to manage my GPRS connection (as the software title shows), but what I need is manage my PHONE (contacts, pictures, etc.) using IRDA.

Sets up the computer to use the gd87 as a modem either via CSD or GPRS. You can attach the 87 to your computer via datacable or IrDA. Really, sweet. Internet anywhere that I take my laptop!!

Does it allow multiple transfer of files? e.g. transfer of pictures in multiple, rather than one-by-one

Currently I have to transfer the pictures or ring tone one--by-one, which is hell for me.

For GPRS, I use bluetooth, so no need to carry cable.

It's NOT phonemanager software so cannot be used to transfer pictures etc. GD87/88 doesn't have Bluetooth so not sure what you're on about there.

Lost rebel: what transfer rates have you got with the new software? won't be able to try it till i get home.

I tried it... was kinda dissapointed when I found out it doesn;t work with CDS. Anyhow, wheras with Mobile Action's software i was able to get 3-4 kbps downloads, with the Panasonic I got a solid 5.5kbps.

    Gate4,

Opps, was trying to say I was connecting via the net via my 7650 BT. Sorry got carried away.

Hmm, if the phone can't do multiple file transfer, maybe I won't d/l then.

I think you need the data service subscribed from your provider?
