    D807 volume problem.

My D900's call volume seems to be a bit too quiet even on the loudest setting.

Does anyone else seem to have this problem?

A friend of mine had the same problem with his D500, but he fixed it by typing in some code and going into a debug mode of some sort.

D807 Hidden Menu/Code for Volume (Bring it)

Trying to restart the thread, because this is a very valuable piece of information that will make everyone's life easier and like their phone better.

    I'll start:

Trick #1: To solve the problem of LCD staying on when plugged into the charger (with LCD slide closed), you'll have to slide the phone open when you charge your phone and the LCD will turn off automatically. (it is better than having the LCD on all night when you're using).

Trick #2: You can load the mp3 (larger than 600kb) onto the microSD/transflash card (but the mp3 has to be sampled under 192kbps) and can be transferrred using Samsung PC sync software. available on the samsung site.
anything under 600kb can be transferred onto the phone's memory and use as ringtones by doing "set as" function.

Trick #3: if you find volume is too low for you.. exchange it for another D807, usually you'll see the difference.

Trick #4: type in *#9998*5282# gets into the hidden menu for install Midlet (you'll need this to play java games on D807) but somebody needs to figure out the password for this and from other forums, this password is set by Cingular (not by Samsung). So bring some effort into this dial 611 and harrass cingular customer rep.

If you don't know what these Codes or Settings will do, don't mess with them. Before changing any of these Settings in the Hidden Menus, write down what the Default settings are so you can change them back. If you don't, you'll only cause more problems than what you were trying to fix in the first place.

No, sometimes depends on what part of the manufacturing process, usually the first batch off the production line is bad...2nd batch usually is better. When it ships out to the retail stores, you don't know which batch you're getting from.

I have bought a new phone, used it, found out the battery couldn't hold charge for more than 24 hours, returned it got a new phone.. and problem solved.

Similarly, i also had a razor (first came out), lots of problems, bluetooth disconnects all the time, drop calls, just plain all around bad.

then when i exchange for a new one after complaing about the problem, the new one was more recent and revised razr, all the problem was gone.. so go figure.

to also proof my point, if you search across the forum, you'll find that some people said D807 volume is just right and some people said D807 volume too low can't even hear it with some background noise. So go figure.

So I typed the *#8999*5282# on my T809, and got a check list menu called "Native Trace" with options like:
    Menu_Trace
    Softkey_Trace
    Display_Trace
    Storage_Trace
and it goes on for a while. They are all unchecked. What happens if I check them....?

The only way that "trick #1" seems to work is if the phone is off. Is there some other setting or step you discovered or omitted -- or perhaps your phone somehow functions differently from others? Otherwise, with the phone on, the LCD screen remains lit, regardless if the slider is open or closed while charging.

I have tried that on two separate D807, and both of them worked with trick #1 (LCD shut off with phone slides open while charging). If you want to take a step further.. try (go into your phone setting and adjust the backlight where, you choose LCD Dim from 15 seconds to "off").

Another trick worked for people is to Turn LCD dim from 15 second to "off", then shut off the phone , then turn it back on.. then it supposely work with LCD slides both close and open.
