Bis Migration from 1.8 to 2.0

Effective March 24th when clients log in to older BWC 1.8 accounts they will be promted to upgrade to bis 2.0 accounts.

The upgrade process will take approx 5 - 10 mins

Important Information Bis 1.8 Customers Should Be Aware of Before Upgrading to Bis 2

Because the BIS 2 service no longer has a message inbox to manage, customers who do not have a copy of any of the messages in their BIS 1.8 inbox should forward a copy of these messages to another e-mail account (such as their Rogers Yahoo!, Yahoo Mail!, Google Gmail ®, Hotmail, etc.). After a customer upgrades, if a copy of a message is still displaying on their BlackBerry device, they will still have access to the message for another 30 days.

Please Note! All upgrades to BIS 2 are permanent! Customers do not have the option to go back to their original BIS 1.8 account.

BIS 2.0 is running for all new acts as of 6 months or earlier.
it's the older 1.8'ts that'll upgrade

in a nutshell bis 2.0 allows UL email within a 30 day period.. so no more filters or auto delete needed to manage your email accounts on the BIS Side.

however, there is no access to that eamil from bis like there is on the BWC 1.8 accounts..

It will also allow for easier integration of things like Hotmail and HTML e-mail down the road.

No wonder I've heard that people can access their @rogers.blackberry.net inbox, but I must be on 2.0 cuz I can't.

Treatz can you elaborate more on this. I'm a new blackberry user, just switched over from palm. I don't recall logging into any accounts version 1.8 etc. I had all my email setup directly from the BB.

BIS 2.x has been around for over a year and a half...so any new accounts created since then won't have to worry about migration.
