This is the thread for SymBtELM: a program for Symbian that connects your favorite Nokia via a Bluetooth ELM/OBD-II device to the computer in your car.
I solved the problem with SIS crash for the Python SIS for Symbian Version 5 devices.
So now I need feedback as to if one can install the SIS on a Symbian Version 5 device.
I have only a Symbian Version 3 device so I can't test it.
Anybody else got a Version 5 Symbian that can test the new SIS?
- unfortunatly another members V5 has problems and he can't test until he get's a new one....
OK I got an N97, and an ELM/OBD-II bluetooth adapter, what exactly do I have to install in the N97 to get this going or to try it out, do I need Python first, please guide me or let me know what to install I can report back here after.

Nice application oxo-oxo's , also I suggest to post in other major symbian sites such as symbian freak, daily mobile. or tell Guru to post your application on blog. Am also wondering if this work on 5th edition device and raising the same question as Uxi "Has OBD3 been cracked yet?"
I see that you definitely support the ECII-BT-INT (ElmCanII Bluetooth Intern).. which is nice.. but I find myself desiring the WLAN version so that the iPhone app "Rev " will also work... So, is there any chance that symbtelm will work with the ElmCanII-WLAN device? Either now or sometime in the not-too-distant future?
oxo-oxo any chance that the application will be ported to maemo ?. It would be awesome if its ported to maemo since it new Linux system that as powerful software.

If you mean SymBtElm: just needs a python - and maemo has python ...
I have made a framework that should allow porting to maemo: probably with very few changes...
I am personally getting very hot over the n900 but I was lucky enough to get a baby girl so time/money is tight at the moment.
I will activly add maemo support if code is supplied by a maemo programmer into the project.
