lol - after all of this (including my trial of HTC touch diamond that worked great on TMo except it had the AT&T 3g frequencies and the Samsung behold and memoir) - I may soon be moving from a 3G area to a state where TMo has zero 3G yet.

However -the area I would be in is to get AT&T 3G in September. Unless I have not followed this thread correctly - it looks like the 137 would handle their 3G also ?

137 supports band I/II/IV 3G
if you're in band V (850) only area, don't get the phone

When I try to go directly to jandr.com - I get redirected by IE7 and Firefox to J&R ?

When I Google them - I also get nothing like the store

$250 on contract for this phone is not bad at all. However it doesn't list accelerometer as one of its features, which is a BIG fail IMHO.

Will have to wait and see what requirements are forced upon by Pharos (how lone one needs to keep data plan and etc).

I lied - I ordered it from their link to http://www.expansys-usa.com/. They expect to receive them tomorrow and possibly ship out same day. I had called J&R and they did not have any info on it.

They have a 15 day return policy, so it will get a good workout. I think most of my questions will be answered in the first 1-2 days, and I will certainly post results here.

Special mention to efjay - he has been all over this from the beginning, including the Pharos forum and his links here.

Based on my test, either it will go back, OR - my Samsung Memoir goes to eBay - possibly followed by my BB 8120 (dependent on fully featured email and sync with outlook working OK on the Pharos).

The video preview on Pharos's site states it has a G-sensor, also confirmed in the forums by Pharos support.

@gaww: thanks for the mention, being starved of a decent WM AWS phone will make you jump all over the place!

My mistake on the price since I read the article too quickly and thought the the price on contract is $250. Instead it's a $250 discount on a 2-year contract with T-Mobile.

Personally I think they blew this, they should have gotten it out 4-6 months ago. Now there is too much about to launch at Tmobile and is going to give them competition.

Engadget has just put up a post on it.:
CLICK HERE to see full post

We're not sure what kind of wilded-out party people need a single phone that can use both AT&T and T-Mobile 3G in the States, but your dreams have finally come true: the Pharos Traveller 137 is finally available. Hope you like Windows Mobile 6.1, cause that's what you're getting for your $350 on two-year T-Mo contract or $600 unlocked. Expensive, yes, but you're basically getting every feature you can think of and Pharos says the 137 is WinMo 6.5-ready, so there's an upgrade path here -- too bad no firmware will ever make that resistive touchscreen feel good.

Also here is link to PhoneScoop who posted theres at 9AM EST. I think the Engadget post is just a synopsis of this.

as long as it's truly non-branded (no detectable IMEI), it has some advantage over TP II

"The Traveler 137 is available today from Amazon.com, Dell.com, eXpansys.com, and Newegg.com for the suggested retail price of $599.95"

is this some kind of joke??
i cant find the phone on amazon, dell, or newegg!
i preordered on expansys-usa.com, order status said "usually ships in 2 days", but their website said "usually ships in 5 days"
maybe they havnt update my order status yet.

netboy is right - it does not show on those sites.

I also ordered (not pre-ordered) from eXpansys (what was their pre-order price?). Talked with their "product manager" 1 hour ago. After being told yesterday that they would have them in-stock today and would ship today - they now say Pharos was holding shipping them off for a few days to "update software".

Don't know if I believe the "update' story, but now they say they expect to have and ship them next Tuesday or Wednesday. If anyone finds them elsewhere - please post.
