Why? It's all about the money silly. Motorola will sell more than a couple of the Droids thanks to Verizon's network. In the USA there isn't a carrier with more coverage than Verizon. The network will sell phones.
i heard ATT rejected the moto droid which sucks because i like it more then my iphone 3gs... i really think att is dumbing down there phone line to make apple happy which stinks because i bet you apple will go to verizon in 2010 or 2011..... and if that happens why would people go to att with no exclusive phones to pick from anymore...
motorola did a smart thing and vzw is having there back, i mean what else could motorola have hoped for this is ideal for there "comeback"
I'm at least happy we got the Cliq. What I don't get is why the online Motorola store sells the Droid but not the Cliq (especially considering the GSM factor. Unless it's a TMob request because of that, though that's kind of silly since you would think 3g working would be a nice factor and Tmob's rate plans are cheaper than ATT)
And let's give some credit, I'm not a big fanboy of any manufacturer, and I had terrible experiences with Verizon, but I am very happy with the marketing work Verizon has done with Droid which in turn will help Android in general. Showing there's more out there than the iPhone with that aggressive marketing can only help the AppStore and bringing in some of the flashy apps that seem to only go to Apple (like not sure why MLB is kissing Apple's *** so much, especially when they used to require users to download Silverlight to use MLB.TV and all that, seemed like a perfect opportunity to help Windows Mobile)
I have been with Tmobile for years now and even with their little hit (or so they think) with Catherine Zeta Jones, their marketing has been awful
