Personally I hate the verizon boot screen on my xv6700, and the telcom one from aku 2.2 isn't much better. Well that is no longer the case...Here is my current boot screen...
This is accomplished by a nifty file that was made for the universal and adapted for the apache...
This was originally posted by isamu49 @ppcgeeks, so entire credit for this goes to him...
This is a modified version of some utils and batch file over on buzzdev originally for Universal but adapted to the Apache. Updates the initial splash over activesync with only soft reset required. Worked fine for me over several iterations, but as always, the usual caveat's apply.
Alternatively, you could open a command prompt (still have to install the cab file and establish an activesync connection) at the location you extract the files to and type the following (no quotes):
To read (from device to file backup.nb):
"pdocread.exe 0x3f00000 0x25800 backup.nb"
To write (from file spcs.nb to device):
"pdocwrite.exe spcs.nb 0x3f00000 0x25800"
Reboot:
"preboot.exe"

I installed a the telecom AKU 2.2 on my Verizon XV 6700. I now get the Telecom bootscreen. Is there any way to get the Verizon boot screen off of someone elses phone (maybe post it on here) so I can revert it to the standard Verizon boot screen? I just want to replace the Telecom with Verizon.
I don't understand? I am just looking for a jpg or whatever of the Verizon boot screen. I already downloaded the file and I will be changing it, but I don't have the original Verizon image that is used in the boot. Basically I'm just asking for the Verizon image, not a way to put it on there.
In the .zip file in the 1st post, there is the SW to replace the image, a converter to convert any image to the boot image type, and all the carriers bootscreens (including Verizon)

Ah I understand now. I didn't realize it included all the images. Thanks .
Hi All I am a noob, so please be gentle...
I got the program working and thanks by the way its really cool. Are there any sites where we can get the correct files to set as the boot screen?

GREAT STUFF!!!! Only a couple minor hitches: 1.) If using ActiveSync, it cannot FAIL to sync or it will not work!, and 2.) On my machine, the apachesplash utility required two missing OCX files (comdlg32.ocx and mscomctl.ocx). But I was able to download these files and change my boot screen after that with no trouble.
For those who have "The Network" I updated the VZW splash
Just right click and save to desktop then use the Apache Splash app to convert and place. Note: the balllin phrase was taken from another splash & Bluetooth & wi-fi emblems are of original splash - props to the maker(s)
