My computer / flash.exe said the flashing process is ready, but the mpx300 does not restart. So waiting and flashing the 5 days was for the birds.

I tested again today:

- with trying boot from sd-card:
The mpx300 does not recognize my sd-card. But the card is a mini-sd in a case/adapter for sd-slot. And I have found that WinXP does not recognize the card too, if it is in the sd-adapter. Only the mini-sd itself is recognize by WinXP, so I think its not a problem of the mpx.

- with flash.exe:
Try to flash the OS is slowly again, so I discontinued that.
Try to flash the eboot works fine on the screens (mpx and Computer), but after the flashing (~10 Minutes) the phone does not restart. The status bar wents to 100%, and after the computer tell me the flashing process is ready and I have to wait until the phone is restarting, nothing happens with the phone.

I'm have tried flashing with 2 computers, but they are absolut identical (hard- and software). I will try with another computer, but I think thats not the reason.

I'm very frustrated.

bye
Olaf

your MPx pre-product or retail version? For Pre-prod you must use 0.2, whereas 0.3 for the latter.
Did you see the graphically upgrade manual?

Yes, I saw the graphically upgrade manual. I have ask the 0.02 here in the thread, and in another board, and witth google for many hours, but nobody have this version.

And yes, that's correct, it's a prebuild:
ROM Date: Apr 3 2004
ROM Version: 0.23C23C.0409
OS Version: 4.21.1088 (Build 14049)

I'm searching about the flash 0.02 for many, many hours, but only found the 0.03, so I'm only able to test with the 0.03

Today I moved a step forward with another computer (my laptop):
1. pull off the battery of the mpx300
1.a) boot the phone with battery, -> boot-menu -> lowformatting flash and format binfs
2. restart computer
3. start flash.exe (0.03)
4. plug in USB a.s.o.
---> flashing works (eboot takes only seconds, OS a few minutes), but... after the flashing there is the old eboot on the phone, again.
And after flashing the OS, there is the old OS, too.

So flashing looks like it works, but - it does not.
The phone shows all status-bars a.s.o., and now it reboots after flashing, but then it is in an infinite loop: white screen -> boot screen (with the old eboot-number) -> white screen -> boot screen ... and so on...
I'm only able to stop this loop by taken the battery or press the key to get in the boot-menu.

I think my last chance would be the flash.exe 0.02, it is nowhere in the www.

bye
Olaf

I just got a phone that shows

2.05.0409 on the white screen (bootloader?)
and
2.0517.0409 with the motorola screen (OS?).

I had another one that showed that, and it appeared stable, then I flashed it to
2.0521.0409-SR and now it crashes randomly. I'd like to pull the ROM off the .0517 phone to save to my computer and reflash the other one.

Unless someone already has that ROM somewhere, how would I create an image of the ROM?

Thanks.

I am not promise you anything but I will try browse my old HD, may be the 0.02 still there. Give me a weeks or more cos I am quite busy now.

Do you know how to distinguish pre-production with retail version of MPx? So it easy for you to choose either 0.03 or 0.02.

Unhappy help me please

Hello everyone,

I desperately need your help! I've bought MPx300 and yesterday I tried to upgrade the ROM. But unfortunately I have given the "erase GSM" command on the red menu. Now I can't switch the phone on anymore. I also can't reset it, and when I try to switch it on I get the blank screen. My PC doesn't recognize it so I cannot upgrade it once again. Help me, tell me what to do please!

I have the MPX300. There are a few problems. I bought this phone hoping that I could update the ROM. I have all the necessary files. Here are the problems with the phone though. The phone wont charge, The phone won't turn on unless I put the battery in then plug in the charger it will finally boot up. The phone boots up and gets to the alignment screen and in the middle of the alignment screen the phone powers off. I have to take the battery out and retry. The phone turns on the second I plug the charger in and I can take it out immediately and it will remain powered on. The power button on the phone also won't do anything. I can't turn the phone off or on with the power button no matter what the situation. This is definitely a brand new phone, the only problem is that there is some major software issues that I hope can be fixed.

I am trying to update the ROM. My computer won't recognize the phone and I did download activesync but still no luck. I tried the instructions exactly for ROM update and the phone wont get picked up by the computer. The computer doesn't even make a noise when I plug it in, usually when plugging something in the computer it beeps to aknowledge you have plugged something in USB. I have also tried the memory card upgrade, and it will either boot right up to the regular screen after I select the Memory Card Update option, or it will keep resetting from the screen that tells you which version phone you have, to a white screen, and it will keep resetting and resetting like this until I take the battery out. It almost acts as if there is no memory card there. I am putting the proper files in the ROOT Directory after formatting with FAT. I have tried all three files (Bootloader, GSM, OS) to Flash but no luck with any of them either.

Any advice on what I can do would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to get this phone up and running ASAP. Thank You!!!

Here is what is said on the screen.
