Software for LG Versa VX-9600

I am looking for software similar to Bitpim for my LG Versa VX-9600. It is not listed yet on bitpim.org. I only like to add custom ring tones nothing else.

Bitpim 1.0.7 20090303 test has VX 96000 (Versa) listed in the phone type drop down in the settings window.
Go to Bitpim.org and you'll see the download link for the latest version

BitPim Test release 1.0.7.20090303 is available.

I was able to use BitPim with my versa. I actually had to go in and uninstall the old version before the download would work.

An earier way to get ringtones to your phone...if you have a SD card:
copy your files you want as ringtones to your "my sounds" folder on your card
put the card back in the phone
go to my sounds on your phone and send the sound to yourself in a txt msg
when your get the txt msg you will have the option to save the sound as a ringtone

Can you get ringtones on the Versa using BitPim? I've put the pictures on it already but can't seem to find the folder for the ringtones. I've tried the Sounds folder but they apparently can't be used as caller ringtones.

I'm a refugee from Alltel and a Motorola KRZR m1 any help much appreciated.

Don't really want to do the texting thing if I don't have to.

After a bit of futzing around I managed to transfer an MP3 to my Versa to use as a ringtone.
  1. In BitPim, click View->View Filesystem, and the filesystem should show up on the left column.
  2. In the filesystem go to /brew/mod/ and there should be a bunch of folders with numbers for names. One of these folders has a "ringtones" folder.
  3. Put your sound file in this "ringtones" folder. It should be in your phone now.
  4. You might have to turn the phone off and back on.

Honestly, I don't know if this is the proper way to do things, but it worked for me. Hope this helps.

I was just able to put the .mp3 in the ringtone page (it converts it) and then send it to the phone.

I have done the texting the ringtone to yourself thing and although it does work... the ringtones sound TERRIBLE. Like bad tape recordings of the actual song. I was really disappointed. I am going to try BitPim because I used it with my old Alltel Scoop. I don't know the official steps yet. I just got my Versa today and I would hate to mess it up.
