i880 MP3 ringtones problem

i880 MP3 ringtones problem

I'v enabled the: "set card audio files as ringers"
but I still have MP3 files that could not set as ringtone.

I've climbed a cellphone tower

you cannot use just any mp3 file as a ringer in a nextel phone. it has to be the proper format to be accepted by the phone. i cannot remember the exact format for mp3 files, but i know it's posted here somewhere. maybe someone will post it again. try changing the bitrate and experiment until it works for you.

I also have i876, and in this phone almost any mp3 file can be set as a ringer.

the i880 is a lot more particular.

32 bit , mono , and 800hz is how a mp3 must be format to ringtone and no bigger than 30 sec
