Here are the specifics:
* I have a self-created ringtone (24 seconds) that is already on my ancient Motorola RAZR.
* I transferred it to my Mac computer (OS 10.4.11) via bluetooth. Love the bluetooth functionality on that old RAZR.
*I have reformatted the ringtone into the following formats: *.mp3, *.acc, *.qcp, *ogg
*I have my new LG enV3 (Verizon) and it's been enabled for bluetooth file transfer with my Mac
*I've successfully transferred bunches of stuff to the enV3 through the bluetooth connection (photos, contacts, etc.) but not the ringtone.
*I've been able to send the ringtone to My Music folder but it can't be assigned as a ringtone from there
*Whenever I send the ringtones in any format to the phone, the phone says it has successfully received a file, but the file is nowhere to be found unless I put it in My Music
*The only exception is when I sent the *.qcp file. Then it went to the Sounds folder and could be assigned as a ringtone but the sound quality was ABYSMAL!
In summary, I would like to have this file in a reasonably audible format on the phone and set as a ringtone.
I would seriously prefer NOT to have to install any extra software (No BitPim, please) or use the USB cable. Bluetooth works fine for everything else, why not this?
Ideas?
BTW, I tried searching for this issue but the threads I came up with were no help at all.
I knew that in switching from T-Mobile to my company's Verizon plan I might not be thrilled, but seriously. This is something so basic, there has to be a work-around...
Sorry, nevermind. I got it. Has to be saved as a *.mid format file. Holy cow. That was like 4 hours of my life I'll never get back. I guess my search engine techniques are failing...

I would suggest purchasing a memory card reader and doing the transfer that way. You will be able to drag and drop onto your memory card from your Mac.
