I just got mine last night, so there are surely others who have more knowledge than I do at this point. However, I have discovered that you can put mp3 files (edited, of course, for length) into the "My Sounds" folder on a micro SD card. Then go into my sounds, and you can play them and set them as ringtone or caller ID ringtone. Enjoy, as we learn together how to use the new phone.
I'm guessing you either have it from Telus or Koodo (who are owned by Telus). They like to lock up the phones to force people to buy ringtones from them.
One person claims to have gotten around this problem. Here are his instructions. (WARNING - I have yet to follow these because I don't have a Micro-USB cable just yet. I have no idea if this will damage your phone. Use at your own risk.)
i used the posted link for my telus lg chocolate a while ago and it worked
but theres no option for the keybo2/enV3 yet so i don't want to test it....
i know, i'm not phone savvy. i just don't feel like paying 4$ for a ringtone anymore.
