Opera Mini 5 beta with lot of new features - tabbed browsing, copy & paste, password manager etc is available for download from http://m.opera.com/next
I tried it. It has some interesting ideas but also some annoyances which would keep me from using it unless they are fixed.
For example earlier in Mobile View (which is what I generally prefer) you can go page down using the right D-pad button. This no longer seems to work. You can use "8" for page down but I don't find it as convenient.
In 4, going up and down in a web page would take you directly from one link to the next, now you scroll through the page which is more cumbersome.
5 keeps the basic short cuts but in 4 when you hit * or # it would bring up the short-cuts which doesn't seem to happen in 5 which means you have to memorize all the short-cuts which is quite difficult.
I'm very impressed with the new opera beta 5 version. They definitely took steps in advancing this web browser. The new UI looks really nice and smooth. The new feature of tabbed windows is another cool and useful feature. For touch screen enabled phones opera also now supports kinetic scrolling. Although its not as good as the one on the default browser, its better than having no kinetic scrolling at all. Another new feature opera offers is the ability to remember and save user names and passwords. The on screen qwerty key pad is also quite useful in portrait mode. Now N97 users no longer need to slide out their keypad in order to type in a url.
The only thing I found annoying was that the Dpad on my N97 doesn't work, lol. I don't know why opera decided to do this, but its definitely a step in the wrong direction. This beta looks very promising and the future looks bright for the opera web browser. I just hope they fix that Dpad feature.

I am really hating the new text input method. Hope it gets sorted out in final version.

Tried it out this morning - on my N97 this new beta version uses ~10MB of RAM - that's just on app start up. You N97 owners know this could be an issue
Otherwise, lots of improvements over v4.2, but the lack of Opera Link between v5 and your Opera account to sync bookmarks is a missed feature (then again, I've got a qwerty now so maybe I should just go ahead and re-type in those urls ). But, like mbranscum says this is a beta - an Opera rep already mentioned that Link and a few other missing features will be included in subsequent releases (per a comment left on IntoMobile's story).
D-Pad doesn't work on N97 and suite settings in app manager shows "on screen keyboard" as off but I still get the on screen keyboard. I would like to disable the on screen keyboard.

it's great so far on the E71, i love the tabbed browsing and have zero problems so far. there are two complaints i do have though that i would like to see get fixed before the final version. in 4, scrolling would go between the links and right now it's just a mouse and scrolling is much slower but i can live with that. also, when entering a web address 4 would fast track through your history and it would make entering url's really fast. in 5, now i have to backspace the www. that shows up in each new tab, everytime. other than those nitpicky details, it's pretty great for a beta.
