Anyone know of a prepaid that works with Google Maps AND the phone's GPS (My Location) ? Trying to stay under $30 per month.
I would be happy with just Cell-Tower based location too, without GPS...
Did some searching on here, I see Boost + 3rd party app's work, but I'm pretty sure I don't want the iden slow data network (19 kb/s = 0.019 Mb/s) and the $50 CDMA option is too pricey for my occasional use.
Virgin Rumor 2 looked good until I got it home. The Virgin website says it has GPS and it comes with Google Maps installed. But as far as I can tell, the GPS is not usable except maybe 911 calls. I double-checked that Location services are ON in the phone, and enabled for the application. When I go to Help in Google Maps, click on My Location, it says "My Location is not available on this device"
Thanks!

Reason: clarify iDEN speed
You can do it with any Boost Mobile iDEN plan, including Pay As You Go. You'll get GPS in Google Maps on the BlackBerry 8350i; Superpages Mobile on the BlackBerry 7520 and 7100i; LifeInPocket on Motorola iDEN phones.

Yeah. While Boost's data speed sucks, they're really the only good option for prepaid smartphone/data usage. You could use AT&T's $19.99/month 100MB data package if you've got a GSM phone. It should be enough for map loads (at least my experience with GMaps on the iPhone).
