Can someone help me?

I was wondering if someone with VZW knowledge could lend me a hand?

Brief history.......

I have been with VZW for about 15 years. I ported my land line phone number then and am still using it. I just redid my NE2 and have a new ENV Touch that i paid $49.00 for Love the phone BTW.

This is what i would like to do.......

Go to AT&T and get an Iphone (i know, i know) and port my number. Sell the ENV Touch and pay the ETF with VZW and also help with new AT&T charges.

Use the iPhone until the Omnia II comes out on VZW (if it ever does) and IF i do not like the iPhone or hate AT&T network, switch back to VZW (re-port my phone number), sell the iPhone to pay the ETF fee from AT&T, and get the Omnia II.

Note: If i stay with VZW and just get the Omnia II i would have to sell the ENV Touch and purchase the Omnia II at full retail which would end up costing me money. I am thinking if i can actually do what i plan, it will not cost me anything.

Questions......

1.) How many times can you port your phone number?
2.) Will VZW let me come back as a customer?
3.) How long do you need to have service and the phone before you can ETF and "keep" the phone?
4.) What are your thoughts about this plan i have?

Any help would be VERY much appreciated

Why not just go to ATT and get the iphone and a new number, try it out during the test window, keeping your VZW account. If you like ATT, cancel VZW, pay the EFT, port your number, sell the Touch. Don't like ATT, return the iphone.

Wirelessly posted ( Samsung Omnia: Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; Windows CE; Opera Mobi/9.5; U; en) VZW:SCH-i910 PPC 240x400)

when O2 comes out add a secondary line, switch O2 phone to your line via myverizon or 611,sell Touch to pay ETF on line you added. no porting, no hassle.
i added a line to get my Dare with that scenario in mind but liked having a spare line so much for extended family when they travel or go to drs i just switched the Dare and kept the line and have the Dare on its original line since getting this Omnia
