Nice...

Hopefully this wasn't just a mistake on speedtest.net where the speed test results are sometimes incorrect.

Hope so too. There were I think two more tests that I did at about the same time that gave around 10mb/s.

Just after 10am at Eastern Ave. and Front St. E., I was able to get just over 12mb/s:

Again, the result wasn't repeatable. Most of the time it was 8mb/s or less.

Nice speeds! Are they consistent (within reason)?

Sometimes I get one or two results somewhat close to 12mb/s, e.g., 10mb/s. But that's rare; the results I usually get are 8mb/s or less.

So far, I have been unable to get repeatable 12mb/s.

This morning -- before 9am -- I was able to get repeatable results around 13mb/s when temporarily stopped at Laird and Southvale in Toronto:

What I've noticed in the tests that I've done from my drive up from downtown to uptown is that the Laird/Southvale intersection seems to give the highest speeds so far and it also seems to give better chances for repeatable results.

Got just over 12mb/s at Yonge and Rosehill around 8:30am this Saturday morning:

This was the exception; it was mostly single digit results during my drive up this morning.

My mate got an iPhone 3G-S yesterday.
Speedtest.net reports were 3.2 Mbps Down and 1.02 Mbps Up.
Full bars and in an open area.
Location was UWO London, Ontario.

The fact that it's a university campus might make a bit of a difference. 30,000 (?) students...

Bell is somewhat dodgy around Memorial's campus (St. John's), especially in res and there's a cell phone tower just down the road, but that was on CDMA (EVDO).

Video of SpeedTest.Net at BMO field in Toronto

There's a video up showing SpeedTest.net for Bell and Rogers/Fido from the CNE (its an iPhone) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG57iK9yJwQ

(Newbie trying to insert an image here, bear with me):

There’s another download test but that’s more about 3GS vs. 3G.

BullzEye and nigelzissou:

Those tests are done using iPhones, which are not HSPA+ capable. You should post those speed results in the "AndyVX HSDPA speed challenge" thread stickied at the top of this forum.

The purpose of this thread is to compare HSPA+ speeds, which are only attainable using 21mbps data cards at the moment.
