So I picked up a new 9700 from a rogers plus store last tuesday. The "n" key was toasted and almost impossible to press down. That same day I opened a ticket with Rogers and got a WorkOrder number to get a replacement from the store. Well the store has no stock, and has no idea when it will be in, the did say I can return the phone and just get my cash back (paid the full buyout price)
I am thinking, that I would return the phone and goto bestbuy and purchase a telus or bell branded phone and have it unlocked... I guess my question is what do I do about the warrenty for the phone if I get a telus/bell phone? Who would I call for warrenty work on the phone? Will telus or bell support me even if I don't have an account even though I own one of their phones? If not telus/bell can I deall with RIM support direct?
I can see them fighting it, I mean it won't be tied to a phone number on their system so I am not sure how they would track it etc.... Anyways I ended up getting a new rogers one so I am covered now.
