Droid Ringer Volume

All of a sudden my ringers are not very loud. The volume is up to the max, can't figure out what the deal is. I can barely hear the short notifiation tones with the phone sitting right in front of me. Yesterday it was working... thought I was going to drive my co-workers nuts testing out ringtones.

Anyone else? Any ideas? Maybe a setting somewhere I'm missing????

I've heard of similar problems with the speaker. Have you tried rebooting the phone to see if that fixes it?

If it happens again, check your memory usage before rebooting. See if an app is running your phone out of memory. That could lead to flaky behavior.

I have the same issue randomly. I think the update in dec.will fix this. It seems to happen for no reason. Tried every solution besides a reboot but that seems to be the only right now to get the speaker to work again.

I haven't had any kind of issue with the ringtone volume however, I have noticed that my earpiece speaker itself seems to have an issue. Have you ever connected a speaker to some kind of output and heard static as the leads connect? It sounds the same way when I'm talking to someone. It's almost as if the speaker isn't connected all the way or something. I have tested this with a variety of phone calls and locations to assure myself that it wasn't signal or phone or carrier. Anyway, as noted above, the reboot resolved the ringer issue and so I can't assume that there are just bad speakers...We'll see what happens after an update and then perhaps a replacement is in order.

I had the same problem. Why do we have to reboot our phones so much to get them work right?

Really you would think this is a Microsoft OS j/k of course I love Android but it seems all OS's have issues that require a hardware reboot from time to time.
