Pay as you Go port to Fido

I have an idea, and wanted to see if this works. I have a regular phone plus a pay as you go phone with a ~ $180 in credit. Can I convert then pay as you go to post paid, getting the 180$ transfered into my one bill, and then port the number to Fido? I do not need a large voice plan, and find has a $15 plan.

How long do I need to wait from the pre->post conversion before I can port to Fido?

is there a cost to port to Fido? I wouldn't have a contract.

Thanks!

what u would have to do is call paygo and switch to monthly.

MAKE SURE U CHOSE A MONTH TO MONTH PLAN, THEY WILL TELL U THAT THE MINIMUM IS 1 YEAR, BUT THE BUSINESS PLANS STARTING AT 50 DOLLARS ARE AVAILABLE AT MONTH TO MONTH

there will be a 35 activation fee.

then, switch over to fido. no wait time, u can do it right away

THE END COST: 35 admin fee, plus the charge for however many days u wait to switch to fido (ie. u wait 2 days to switch to fido, pay 2 days worth of service)

any charge from fido?

Also, would they cut me a cheque if I have other services with them which I am keeping? Probably just be a credit on my account.

Since early November the Mega Value Plans are avaialble month to month. The plans start at $30 in Large maket areas and $25 in small market areas.

There's no extra cost to port-in a number.

No cheque, the credit would be applied to your account and go towards your other services.

I have the exact same problem. I have a prepaid Fido account with $182 balance. So if I switch to post paid, I'll get charged $35 activation fee + 1 month of service fee.

I don't have any other services. Does that mean I will get a check for the reminder amount?

Will there be a fee from fido to setup a new account? How about to get a fido sim card?

it would seem to make this change I will need to spend $35 to switch to post paid, then another 35 to activate with fido and another 35 to get a fido sim card (assuming I get it straight from them).

I think the activation fee includes the SIM. Did you talk to any fido rep. or store about this?

No, other threads in the fido forum indicate this. If $35 includes the sim that would be great.

I went to a fido booth and confirmed it. $35 act fee + $35 for fido sim. Plus the $35 to migrate from pay as you go to post paid is $105!

Ok. Slowly moving forward (must have spoken to almost every department). I was told to go from pre-paid to post that I needed a new SIM card, they sent me one (it should be free, but now I need to check my next bill).

Either way, I have a new account now with rogers and a big credit. So, If I port to Fido next week, will I have to pay for a few days of usage? Or will they ding me 30 days? Or even worse, will I have to pay the remaining of this month plus next month (read that happening as well ).

Thanks in advance.

Does someone know when canceling/porting will Rogers try to charge an extra 30 days as it you need to let them know 30 days in advance.
