$45 City Fido Plan up for renewal, want an Iphone...
new here, don't know all the lingo but trying!
I currently have CF45 with SAF. With unlimited texts, voicemail and tax my monthly invoice comes to just over $70.
I have over $200 fido dollars and want to use them towards the 32g 3Gs and renew my contract.
Just wondering if anyone has had success getting any discounts or bonuses in a situation as I am in. I KNOW I have a "good plan" and I don't think I will be giving it up as it is my primary phone and I do not have a landline.
I won't be getting the phone without a data plan... I'll be getting the 6GB data plan for $30/mo-there's no point to getting an Iphone and not being able to use it to it's full potention

Minnie14, a lot of people tried without much success...here's your choices:
If you currently getting a credit of 6,95$/Month, you can renew your Fido agreement for 24 Months to freeze your price plan at 45,00$/Month+ keeping your current SAF discount...
If you want the new Apple iPhone 32GB 3Gs, you can purchase it at the retail price (799,00$) and use your Fidodollars as a discount (~200,00$), but you must add a Data Option on the top of your Price Plan/Option of Min 25,00$ (500 MB) with a 24 Month Fido Agreement. In conclusion, the basic renewing of your Fido agreement is to freeze your City Fido price plan & keeping your SAF.
OR
The second alternative is to START paying the SAF, Then you can order a new Apple iPhone 32GB 3Gs at an Fido agreement price of 3 years (299,00$). From that point, you can freeze your price plan at 45,00$, if you use your Fidodollars, you must add a Data Option on the top of your Price Plan/Option of Min 25,00$ (500 MB) with a 36 Months Fido Agreement.

For real!??, how are planning to get it when it's currently not even being offer?I suggest you to start up with the 30,00$/1 GB Option first. Unless there's something better in the futur, You can change it to the 60,00$/3 GB Option if you really want to be safe...

Newbies=idiots right? thanks guys The search feature is only available to registered users, after registering, searching a bit and browsing the site I thought it might be easier to just post and see what people had to say.
As for th 6G data plan, when I called Fido they offered it to me, but that was over 3 weeks ago so we'll see if they will extend it or not...
Just another dumb question: Would the data plan be part of my contract or is it considered an add on option?

They coudn't have offered it to you 3 weeks ago. it hasn't been available for little or over two months(can't recall the exact time) When it was available it was only with a 3 year term with $200 cancellation fee at one time the cancellation fee was $100 and then went up to $200.
if you get a data discount on a device then there is contract for Data, if you don't get a data discount on a device then you can get data without contract. I hope this helps you out.

It was available until September 15. And it doesn't matter if they offered it to you then, it simply is not an available option now and cannot be added.
Currently there is a retention offer of $40/3GB which may be offered to you if you're really nice. Otherwise it's regular price $30/1GB (standard across all carriers).

Ordered the 32gig 3gs, anxiously awaiting it's arrival...
They said they couldn't honour the $30/6gig data plan, but they did say it has been offered 2 years in a row now, after the new model Iphone comes out.
I was offered the $40/3Gig plan and I was able to get a $10 off as a way to meet half way. Then I decided to just get the standard $30/1gig plan and was still able to keep the $10/mo discount When the $30/6gig or similar comes again in June I'll be switching to it.
My monthly plan will now be just over $12 more a month including taxes compared to my previous cost.
Minnie i was in the exact situation as you, city fido no saf...i got the 32gb 3gs and got the $30/6gb, and NOW pay saf. I got a $10 discount for 6 months, but I know lots of ppl that got the discount for the full contract. I never said much, but my 6 months is fast approaching lol
