Berries randomly delete Calendar entries?

I've been experiencing an issue with my Storm where DM Sync suddenly wants to delete hundreds of Calendar entries. I typically say no, refresh the Berry Calendar from Outlook, manually re-enter any missed new entries and carry on.

But I've been investigating and have found I'm not alone and this seems to be a well known issue - though not well publicized. I've also found my Berry has deleted all of my Calendar entries prior to Aug 11/07 - this one I'm still in shock over.

I hope pointing to another forum for this is ok, but check out crackberry.com for the Storm thread "To all those "Don't worry about memory.." comments..." at http://forums.crackberry.com/f86/al...30/index15.html

Has anyone here had this happen or know anything about it?

Interesting - on other forums it's a known issue and generates lots of "yup - I have that problem!" responses. Here it's 58 views and no responses.

No one else has had this issue or knows anything about it?

August 11 2007? seriously?

theres an setting in the calendar options that allows you to set how long an entry will remain on the device. also, even though the new blackberries have WAY more memory than the older ones, its still kind of limited. if you seriously have entries and emails going all the way back to august 2007, then your memory is probably low and the device is deleting old entries

ive never had this issue but i dont hoard emails and calendar entries either. my calendar is a reminder of what to do, not what i did

Generally happens when you start running out of memory. First call logs, then email, then older calendar entries.

Only 2 replies here, but it's definitely a known issue.

Check out the Crackberry thread at http://forums.crackberry.com/f86/al...omments-356930/

And go to blackberry.com Support > Blackberry Support Community Forums > Blackberry Device Software and Search on Calendar Delete (try this direct link first : http://supportforums.blackberry.com...e#message-list).

Lots of people with this issue, and Blackberry is very quiet about it. Interestingly enough, I went to my local Apple store Saturday to actually look at an iPhone, and when I mentioned this issue to the Apple rep he laughed - he'd heard all about it!

There seems to be no clear solution except to keep free memory as high as possible and it "shouldn't" happen. As to how high to keep it? I've read 400K, 12MB and 15MB. Go figure.

Have definitely found this to be a known issue, both on here and at Blackerry web site.

Has anyone had this issue on a Storm 2?
