Not to rain on the parade, but perhaps the OP should re-title the thread "Pearl 9100 first look"? BGR didn't specify a time frame for it's release (unless I missed something), but I'm a Pearl fan and this could be a good thing. If they can pack the specs of a Bold 9700 into a Pearl 9100, I think it'd be a great phone.

That looks like it will make a nice upgrade for those who like their Pearl, and want to stick with that style BB.

I sincerely doubt they would do that.

1. It's impossible engineering-wise.

2. It would beguile the pearl's place in the product lineup as the 'value' phone.

Why give it the same specs as their flagship? That seems stupid to me.

The person who got their hands on the 9100 says that it does have Wifi and 3G.

You can see the wifi icon in this pic.

Oh man, that's hot! I used a Pearl for about 2 1/2 years (8100 and 8110). Killer from factor. Loved the keyboard. I could fly on it. Used an 8900 for a very short period of time and now using an iPhone 3GS since June. Just tried an 9700, but the keyboard is too cramped. I would consider getting this bad boy if it's got some mean specs.
