Radio frame has been contracted by sprint for a while . Its hard to understand the reason moto did this. It definately looks like Moto is planning on enhancing Iden or trying to cut them out of the loop. THE later would be a gamble I don't see logical for them.Who knows

FWIW, it shows that Motorola is still committed to iDEN.
I think Motorola should just buy Sprint's iDEN network. Sprint really isn't doing anything with it, just giving it away with Boost. They could buy Telus's iDEN network, too, and have themselves a little party -- roll out WiDEN, make a deal with Clearwire for speed...

Virgin Mobile -> T-Mo -> Helio -> Sprint (never again!) -> tried to get T-Mo -> got AT&T -> switching back to T-Mo Dec. 2010. (All in the last four years...phew!)

Motorola used to own Nextel, Clearwater(Telus MIKE), and Mirs. The sold their shares in the open market. I don't think they go back and re-buy what sold off.
