Why does Telus have much better pricing for Share/Data Plans
I am currently on the 100 dollar rogers share plan for smartphones, i only get 1 gb of data with that and 400 pooled minutes, on top of that i pay 25 dollars a line for MY5 Canadawide, and 15 dollars a line for the text message value pack. If i dont go over my long distance minutes the bill is usually around 195 dollars for 2 smartphones.
Tonight i came across Telus's share plans that offer twice the deal for less of a cost, I have tried negotiating with Rogers to get a more comparable plan but they werent willing to help. What can I do? I feel like im getting robbed!!

Am I missing something? I'm on a family share plan with Rogers that has 1gb of data, 400 min & My5 canada wide -included- in the price, not extra. switch to that, maybe? That's lowering your bill by $50 right there, and you could probably give each line a value pack to cover texting, if you're worried.
From what you've said, btw, it'd be $100 (plan) + $30 (value packs) + 5.16 (grrf x 2) so 135.16 + tax a month. Should run you about $150, depending on what province you're in.
I was wondering the same thing.. I was actually looking at Bell's shared plan for smartphone use. they have a $65 plan that i think besides 50 minutes (i think) has everything else the same as rogers' $100 shared plan
edit: i dont even fully understand how bell has a shared plan at $65, and the regular single use smartphone plan for $65 with same features has the same price

you guys are reading the telus site wrong, the fees are what EACH line brings to the plan.
so the 50$ telus plan is PER line, there fore 2 lines would equal the rogers share plan @ 100$, bringing 150 mins EACH, and 500 megs each. seems pretty close to rogers family plan voice and data, just rogers gives the up front cost for 2 lines on their page.

I wonder if the Bell plans are the same way, in that case... Because if you ask me, either they're desperate for customers and severely underselling, or there's something not listed on that page. :P

Rogers retentions has $10 unlimited text, voice mail and call display. So I'd ask for that, plus $25 for MY5 is INSANE! I thought that feature was $15.
Why not get rid of the family plan and have each acct go with the $50 200 daytime, evenings and weekends, 500 mb of data plus either network calling or MY5.
Then add the $10 retentions value pack. PLUS there is no SAF.
So ur bill we be $50+$50+$10+$10= $120 plus tax so around $135-40
***call and complain about the local calling zone changes and they may even offer you UNLIMITED CANADA LD FOR FREE**** which means u could opt for unlimited network calling and skip the MY5 option for the $50 plan

If you dont feel like fighting for unlimited canada LD then it should be easy to get 1000 LD min for $5 or maybe even free if you have the nerve to ask!

I was just going off by what the OP said.
I thought it was industry standard to advertise a family plan at a per line price. That is how Telus and Bell do it, so I figured Rogers would be the same.
