Official Facebook S60 Application (E71 & E72)
Well.....it is a start.
For all E71 and E72 users, head over to the Ovi store and grab it.
Taken from Ovi Store:
Facebook ® for Nokia E71/E72 lets you keep up with your friends right at your fingertips. Update your status, see what your friends are up to, upload photos, check messages and lookup phone numbers when you need them anytime and anywhere. Facebook allows you to comment on your friend’s statuses, RSVP to e vent invites and confirm or deny friend requests. The Facebook for Nokia E71/E72 brings Facebook directly to your phone. If Facebook is not available for your device, please check Ovi Store.
Was able to get this running on both my E71 and N95 8GB. After downloading from Ovi directly on my E71 I loaded up Ovi Store on my N95, went to My Stuff and downloaded it again with no issues.
App started fine on E71. On N95 the initial start was super slow. Once I restarted the app on the N95 updates came a decent rate and it was usable. My initial impression on the N95 was unusable until I restarted the app and now no issues.
As Candyman said, it's a start. Give more functionality than the mobile site, looks to be missing notifications and I need to play with it a bit more. Would love this native versus java.
Yah grabbed it at work. Its not too bad. Like others have said, its a start. But honestly, why has it taken this long? A facebook app should have been out a long time ago.

Get the User-agent switcher add-on to your desktop firefox browser. Set your user agent to E71. Go to store.ovi.com and search for facebook. click on the download link (you'll download some weird file, but ignore that) Go to Ovi store on your phone, go to My Stuff and download facebook on your S60 device
I googled the user-agent string of the E71: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaE71-1/100.07.57; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413
I used the same trick to get Brightlight, even though this app is only for s60v5, it works on my N85 too Heard that it doesn't work on FP1 devices though.
I think I can get any apps I want now form the Ovi store Hope Nokia will never fix this loophole. It's not like the store has that many great apps anyway.
Trying to download, but the Ovi Store won't let me log in. It just times out after I enter my username/password, and gives me the message "The operation could not be completed due to an error."
I would figure that a basic requirement of an online app store is that it be up every now and then.
