Originally posted by Caice7134 I've seen this error before when trying to access a page that's not coded for WAP. The VX6000 browser does not support standard HTML code, which it seems is what you were trying to access when you got that error. It's one of the downfalls of WAP
So the tagtag.com/mail pages are not written in WML? That seems very odd since tagtag touts their site as a personal WAP homepage. Anyone from tagtag.com reading these forums that can confirm or deny?

Hi folks, I've had my VX6000 for about a week now, and these forums have already been a GREAT help. But here goes my first problem.
I've seen a couple other folks post it without much help (for this specific issue) but here goes...
I have successfully set up my own WAP server on my PC. I was able to follow the instructions at the beginning of the thread fine.(with my ip/port info instead of the #s listed) I can connect with no problems to my server (and can see the activity on my computer when traffic is being passed). I have also set up my friend's phone with no problem whatsoever. I figured my roommate's phone would be even easier, since I'm now an old pro at it ... however...
When I get to the point of opening the browser, I keep getting errors saying "network not responding." I can still go ahead and hold "0" to get to the advanced settings and use proxy #2. But after checking/doublechecking all of the settings, my roomie's phone will still not connect. I always get the "network not responding" error. The other 2 phones are able to connect before, during, and after attempts with the "unlucky" one, so it's obviously not an issue of my server not running right.
Any thoughts? Any other settings I might be missing?

Hmm, I kinda had a similar problem before. On the WAP proxy settings, make sure to select WAP Proxy 2. That made it work on my problem before.
Also, do you have a static IP or a dynamic IP? If you have a dynamic IP, The IP Address changes every so often and the only way I know to fix this is to use a comp with a static IP. I hope this helps.

Yeah, I've checked to make sure I've selected Wap Proxy 2 (in the advanced web settings, right?)
One thing of note, is that I didn't get the security error on her phone like I did the other two.. but that may just be because the "network wasn't responding" in the first place..
I know it's not a problem with having a dynamic IP, since the other 2 phones haven't had to be changed (and I've checked the IP I'm on to make sure it hasn't changed anyway).
For not having a static, mine RARELY changes. I usually go months on end with no problems in that department.

Thanks though,

Your'e welcome. I hope that you'll find the solution for your problem. Quick question though. Do you do anything to keep your ip from changing? Are you on Win xp? Are you using a router? I currently have dsl and I use a router and the only thing that's keeping me from using wap3gxp is because my ip changes about every two hours. My comp is pretty much on 24/7 so I am assuming that I am online all the time hoping that would keep the current ip. Does anyone have any ideas or tips about this?

Sorry, I really don't..
I'm just lucky I guess . I don't know what they have set up as far as IP leases around here. I do have a router, but I haven't set my IP staticlly myself. I work for an ISP, (not the one I use at home) and if we ever see customers who have set (or try to set) their IP themselves, we'll disconnect them until they go back to DHCP. (Unless they're paying extra for the static of course)
O.K., so I'm now lost... I tried using the instructions, and couldn't get the WAP Tunnel IP addresses to work with my TagTag account. I kept getting a "connection timed out" message. I then used the Devgate IP address, and like others, could not update the home page to insert the TagTag. However, with I did a restart on the Browser from the advanced page, I found myself connected to the web via the OpenWave Gateway, with access to their cool links, which is pretty good. Am I now getting charged? I didn't open an OpenWave account that I recall anywhere? How can I get to the TagTag page??
Hi, i was just wondering if there are any links anywhere for my phone to display html pages somehow. For instance i can get to sites using google.com on my phone, but if i just put it the url in my phone it'll give me the cannot display html message. I was just wondering if there are any browser links out there that i can put in the phone to browse html sites on a wap phone instead of having to google sites and go through pages.
Well I had WAP working for a while, then it stopped...so I set up a WAP gateway on my server and all is good.
If you have even a somewhat static IP I would suggest this route.
Super easy to get working. For those trying the Now.Wap/WAP3GX setup, if you have a router you need to forward UDP Port 9201 to your internal IP running the gateway. That was all it took for me.
OK...dumb question from someone who just got their 6k. Instead of having to read 14 pages of stuff, are the instructions on the first page still relevant (doesn't seem like it as I can't even get to tagtag.com on my pc). Are the IP's on the first post still valid?
Thanks much!
edit: FYI, I'm only trying to get WAP access on the phone...not set up my own.
