Transferring Via Bluetooth and Browsing Folders(Audiovox SMT5600)
Just came from “almost purchasing" this phone but was stumped because I couldn't transfer pictures via BT to my Sony Ericsson T627 or other BT phones at the AT&T store.
- Receiving on the 5600: I went to Bluetooth settings and set the phone to "DISCOVERABLE" and was unsuccessful at receiving pictures.
- Sending from the 5600: When I was sending from the 5600, I would get to a screen that showed the IR option and the IP addresses of other BT phones in the area, but it would not let me scroll down to the BT phones.
- Other BT option: I then paired the phones using a PIN and went back to BT settings and put the Bluetooth setting to ON and tried the above to no avail.
- Has anyone usefully sent and received Pix, Videos and contacts on the Audiovox SMT 5600?
- Is it possible to browse its file-system with a Mac as with the Sony/Ericsson T627?
This phone is my choice over the MPx220 as soon as I get the Above Q&A’s.

Dam, I brought my Apple Powerbook with me to the AT&T store to see if I could at least browse the Audiovox’s folders via Bluetooth and extract pictures, Videos and more this way… But the rep was paranoid that I was going to screw it up or hack into it some how. I really wanted this phone cause I was getting a sweet corporate deal. Oh well… I guess I’ll cough-up the extra money and get the Palm Treo 650 when it comes out!
Originally posted by Wyman I tried the same and was not able to. It looks like the OBEX push profile is missing, so the only way of transfering anything is via IR.
The phone does support the OBEX push profile. I have sent and retrieved files from the 5600. This was from both Win2K and WinXP computers.
However, I was not able to send or receive a picture from a friend's Nokia. So I think there might be some sort of setting that needs to be fiddled.
