TXT Email Addy is now 10digitnum@mmode.com (#@mobile.att.net dies April 24th 2005)
You only need worry about this change if you receive TXT from email clients, you don't have to do anything if you just get your TXT messages from other cell phones.
Everyone who is used to receiving TXT from an email client with the address
You can use both right now, but the old one of @mobile.att.net will stop working on April 24th (the day Cingular must give up the name ATT-Wireless back to ATT)
I checked the last 10 days of posts and didn't see anyone else saying this so figured I should let you guys know.
If you have questions don't PM me, just reply to this post.

that sucks. I just got used to that address. Do you know if using that PTN@mmode.com will still arrive as SMS or will it do like normal user_name@mmode.com does and go to the mmode email service?
I liked getting alerts about CNN news. Sure don't want to use up KB's for that stuff now.
Originally posted by NukuCamui does that only go for gsm or will tdma follow as well? I ask because I send rttl ringtones (how old school) to my phone using @mobile.att.net
I would have to imagine it's for both but someone who has one or the other should be able to answer that.
Has anyone done this successfully yet? Could you post to let us know that it works for sure?
You mean "mmode" will actually become a real domain? Oh well, no more doing a whois and getting "host not found" or "no such host"etc. I dislike the "mmode" word even more than the "mycingular" mobile domain name/word. Let's start a "We want our ".mobile.att.net" back!" movement. Anyone interested?
Yes, it works/ed. It worked from sending as an "sms email" (using the domain), or sending it as an email from an email program. (The <PTN#@mmode.com> will/should always be received as an sms, regardless.) (I presume...)
I'll post the article's link when I get online, or can if I can find it sooner, I'll type it in thread by memory, via wap. I remember it being an article, in a "series" of stories, about the fall of attws. Included was the story of a small wireless company in Seattle, that attwireless bought back in the 90's. It was all interesting and a good read. Btw,is that an Ericsson RLx280/9 in your profile? That wap the best wap phone ever built!
