My blackJack stopped working on edge after about noon central. Just came back up about 6pm central. This is the first time ever and I was about to call cingular/att.

I think its connected somehow and its not JUST the IPHONE effected.
I'm in worthington, Indiana about and hour southwest of Indy

I have the cingular 8525, and both the EDGE/3G connectivity was down since morning today(07/02) in the san francisco bay area. I had called tech support and he made me do all sorts of things like take the battery out and put it back blah, before telling me that he had to make sure I haven't done something to the settings, and that there is a "nationwide edge outage". anyhoo, it seems to be back up now (about 4:00pm on the west coast).

Up and running all day in Merced, CA
Since it came back at around 12noon, I've been able to access internet and send email all day. No problems.

You have to allow these new devices some kinks to be worked out, don't you?

Taking the iPhone back and shoving it up someone's a**? Getting a credit back from at&t? No wonder these companies hate consumers.

iphone edge no-go, non-iphone edge no-problem
A guy at work brought his iphone in and not even the google home page would come up(it just sat there loading for 5 minutes). A lady 2 cubes over came over and was browsing the web with no problems with her att blackberry 8800.

I was skeptical because I assumed "Edge is Edge" but after reading this thread I learned something about the concept of different APNs...cool.

it was on the news.. its dude to all the new iphone subscribers putting MASSIVE amounts of stress on the system, and it crashed..

All I have to say is that so far today I have been in the following cities:

Selma, CA
Fresno, CA
Madera, CA
Los Banos, CA
Gilroy, CA
Morgan Hill, CA
and
San Jose, CA

Never once in any of these places was my EDGE not working. I always had the E, Visual Voicemail was fine, and I was able to browse and download from YouTube. Someone earlier said I had the "E" but no data, well then there wasnt an EDGE outage. Perhaps the backbone to the tower, but not EDGE. Besides a lot of things are on the news. Believe it all if you want, but since this is a hyped device they are going to say whatever they think they can so long as it gets attention for them.

Sounds like a report from Fox News...you will get much better info from forums like this then you will in the TV news. And in the case of Fox News, you will get much better info from a small, inaudible child or possibly a retarded monkey.

By the way OMeGa-Networks: Those are some crappy cities

Why cant this CA High Speed rail hurry up. Seems pretty slow right now.... hmm wonder how my iPhone would work at 200+ MPG.
