8600 hangs up when hooking up to charger

I've searched, but can't find anything on this. When I'm on the phone and I go to plug it in to the charger (in the house), it disconnects the call. Same thing happens when I am on it and unplug it. Is this normal?

TIA

Whether its "normal", as in by design, beats me.

But yeah, it does happen on other 8600's. I found out the hard way

Thanks for the replies, and advice, I was really confused because sometimes it did and sometimes it didn't.
