Thumbs up HSDPA on Treo 750v (Treo 750 / Cheetah) Working!!!

HSDPA WORKS FOR THE TREO 750v / Treo 750 / CHEETAH !!!! ITS AWESOME!
At least it works for Cingular HSDPA (Tested on my Treo 750v here in Cleveland, Ohio)

I probably shouldn't have taken this risk, but it paid off, works perfectly! My buddy that bought me my Treo 750v from Vodafone (bought himself one also), came across some Cellphone store's flyer (in London) that said they can ENABLE HSDPA on THE TREO 750v / Treo 750 ... We were a little weary to try it, but he guaranteed us results or a refund... so we went ahead and paid them $85.00 and they immediately sent me an email with full instructions on it. I had to give them my IMEI number (At the Today Screen Type *#06# and wait a second its a 17-digit Number that pops up They made me give them the FIRST 15 digits)... Im guessing the imei number has something to do with getting the HSDPA to work since the stuff my friend had to enter to enable his was slightly different than the stuff I had to enter, even though we bought our Treo's at the same time, with very similar IMEI numbers...

I am on Cingular with an unlocked Treo 750v bought from Vodafone in England, unlocked by me -- and this works VERY VERY well even over tethering (bluetooth and usb) -- they are not selling it via their website (only in-store), but will be making an Ebay ONE TIME sale, Apparently, but who knows? They supplied me the correct files for both Mac and Windows to update without me even asking which is pretty nice, since I use both and just happen to have my Dell Laptop in for Servicing...

So, the guy said he would post it here (everywhere? maybe ) or somewhere ? when its up on Ebay. If he doesn't i'll let you know if i come across it...

I get bursts of 3.0 MBPS with an average of 1.3 MBPS on the Treo 750 itself and 1.5 MBPS via USB Tethering on average upload speeds seemed capped at like 110 kbit/s - 170 kbit/s with bursts into the 300 kbit/s.

Overall works really well, very fast i think its HSDPA 3.6 but i didn't think Cingular had those capabilities yet, however i tested it on Speakeasy.net Speed test, Bandwidthplace.com Speed test, and Dslreports.com Speedtests all with the SAME EXACT results...

So I guess he'll post it once they are ready to make the sale (he said within like the next 24 hours it will be on Ebay), if he doesn't I'll keep checking ebay and let you guys know once the sale starts.

See screen shots of 2.9 Mbps Burst (doing a 1 MB speed test on bandwidthplace.com) two screen shots (one far away, one closeup) sorry they are fuzzy i only have my stupid iSight Camera... but its linked here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281683

I am going to take a wait and see approach to this. He mentioned in the XDA thread that the solution to enabling HSPDA should be up on Ebay soon. Not that I will buy it, but if it is, it might lend some credibility to his story.

I however never experianced those types of speeds on Cingular with my HSPDA enabled TyTn!

While it would be great if it were true, these speeds exceed Cingular's current HSDPA capabilities.

@drakmog: I hope for your sake it works... US $85-90 is an awfully steep price to pay if it doesn't!

Feel free to go to Bandwidthplace.com each test requires a separate TEST KEY, I have cleared the cache between tests, i admit that 2.9 mbps isn't common, only happens 1 out of every 20 tests, like I said the average is 1.3 MBPS on the Treo 750 using PIE or Opera. I don't know what else to say... It works i was just letting you guys know in case yoou wanted it too. i don't need too convince you guys, it doesn't matter to me if you have it or not I was just trying to be nice...
