Blackjack 3G/Edge Network Selection Solved!

I've figured out how to put the blackjack into Edge mode by default. Simple really. It's the same procedure for the samsung ZX20 (which was my previous phone).

1. Enter *#1546792*#
2. Select Option 3 Netowrk & Call Settings
3. Select option 5 Network Mode
4. Select GSM

Let's see how that affects battery performance.

sweet. I'm gonna try this on my Blackjack in a few minutes.

by the way, would I need to go through the same process every time when I want to switch from UMTS to GSM/EDGE or does it stay as long as I dont change it?

Anyway to make this a shortcut so I don't have to memorize the number?

It'll stay on the same setting until you change it.

Doesn't workk if you save it as a contact as you don't actuall make a call. Any other suggestions other then manually entering it?

Now, if someone could just come up with an easier way to get the battery cover off...

I found a battery cover designed for an extended battery, but no extended battery to go with it.
