Titan (aka XV6800)

So, is anybody holding out to get this phone? Supposedly it will be released on Jan 15th. What do you guys know about it? Any great improvements over the 6700? Do you think the price will be outrageous since it's brand new?

Also, just to make sure... the Titan is the same thing as the XV6800, right?

I have been holding out for VGA before moving to a converged device. Is this the one or should we wait for another?

I really like the looks of the Libra and how it has the dialing pad on the front for easy access, but the smartphone version of WM5 just wont work for me.

Does anyone have any idea about price for the Titan? Are these phones crazy expensive when they first come out?

The XV6700 was $499/$399 when it came out, IIRC, so that should be about the price of the XV6800. It will be quite expensive without a contract for a while.

Don't get the 6700 and wait for a couple of more weeks. A lot of 6700 suffers from poor voice quality.

I was thinking about the 6700, but after doing extensive research, i think im going to hold out for the 6800.

The main reason that stopped me from buying the 6700 was that it is really lacking in the "phone" aspect. Both the internal and external speaker volumes are poor quality and a program has to be installed to use voice activated dialing, which to my knowledge doesnt work on a bluetooth headset.

It seems like there is way too much hacking that needs to be done to get this phone to be tolerable. But editing the registry doesnt come with out its side affects.

Hopefully they fixed a lot of things for the 6800 and really worked hard on getting the "phone" part of the pda right. I can wait til january....my ne2 is up on december 7th

EDIT: i also looked into the Lg 9900 and Moto Q, but i really want a phone with wi-fi so i dont have to pay for a data plan

Not on the new Rom. It has voice dial built in, though it's different than MSVoice Command. It has to be trained (i.e. you record and it matches). But both work perfectly over BT. I found out the hard way if the ringer vol. is off I don't get the audio feedback when I speak on the builtin, but other than that it works fine. BT headset use is also very good - I have the Jabra jx10 and it's very small and light

However, if you are waiting till Dec and the 6800 is due out in a month, it certainly makes sense to wait. Just wanted to mention that the voice dial has been addressed in the new rom And hopefully the date is actually acurate... My NE2 is in March and I'll strongly consider upgrading at that point.

So I'm a bit confused and I can't quite find my answer after a lot of reading. In order for a phone to work on Verizon, it must be CDMA correct? Well I was looking at some pictures on msmobiles.com of the TyTN and one of the network options was WCDMA, does this mean it is compatible with Verizon. If so, will they activate the phone without their brandings on it? I'm not worried about the price of the unlocked version online if it saves me from the restrictions verizon likes and that potential ugly black case they used on the 6700...

http://msmobiles.com/news.php/5368.html

Please fill me in on the network issue. The only thing I could find was the frequencies of various networks (800, 850, 1800, 1900 etc)

Thanks!

yah it does make sense to wait in thise situation and if i wasnt due for an upgrade anytime soon, i probly would buy the 6700 on ebay. Any pictures of the 6800 yet?? One thing that attracted me to the 6700 was the black face and i hope the 6800 isnt all silver :/ ?
