Took apart an 8525 and found something interesting.
Not sure if it had been posted but I took my buddy's 8525 apart and found that there is a tray for the VGA camera as well as the circuit to plug in the cable for the camera. Anyone try putting the HTC camera in there and trying it out. Here are some pics.

I was going to commend you on being brave, but I also notice this was a friend's 8525 not yours, so unless your friend is a bouncer, I can see why you took the chance taking it apart.
Anyway that is cool, but I wonder how much the camera and the new front housing would cost. I would guess it would work with an unbranded ROM then. it might not be cost effective over the standard TyTn.
I've taken a few apart already. He had dropped his a couple times and the slider had come a little loose so he asked me to tightne it up. I figured since I had gotten that far into it, what the hell. Decided to take it a step further. LOL

My slider is really loose after only 2 months of use, I am a heavy user but, I can see me disassembling it soon....waiting for price to drop just in case I break it more.

how do you tighten the slider?
There is a how-to on this over on XDA. I looked into it, as mine is loose too, but it looks to involved for my know-how. Although, as Wpbear mentioned, once the price drops, I will probably have at it.
so now that I have taken this apart. What is next ya'll. How do we get this camera going. On www.cnn.cn there is a TYTN housing replacement kit that I am considering on getting if this thing works. I'm sure there is a flash or something involved in getting this to work. Any ideas?????????

Mike, Thanks for the great guide , just one question.. i got my 8525 about a week ago, is it normal that its keyboard is already loose? when the slider's closed, the upper part just tends to move with minimal push!

Quite common I'm afraid. I don't know why they make the indents on the runners so shallow they barely make a firm "click" into position. It would be so simple for them to adjust their presses to stamp out a deeper groove. Mine, though it was several months ago now, was so loose just holding phone to make a call made it open - hence developing the fix.
It's a pity from our point of view that the dismantling is quite extensive, unlike the stylus issue that some have where it's just the back casing that needs to come off.
And just for info, there have been reports and evidence that the stylus problem can be related to problems of rear speaker not working or sound becoming intermittent. This is because the connector block for the speaker is adjacent to the tip of the stylus and can work loose.
