Hot on the heels of the last latest Blackberry news comes a report that the Pearl will have a short life, being supplanted by an update, possibly as early as this summer. The update is to the 8100 and is said to be titled the 8120. The fun new colors are said to be blue, gold, and titanium.

The big news, though, is the addition of GPS and Wi-Fi, along with a 2-megapixel camera. According to the source, the 8210 will hit U.S. markets in late August and Canadian Rogers customers in September.

If it really does release in august, I will be scrapping my 8100 for this.

I would prefer the 8120 as well. GPS is the killer feature!
